mines not the later model bud, i just picked up the bigger tank off ebay when i crashed last yeear - it goes straight on but the fuel piping is a bit different. theres a few for sale on the vtr sale for like 1400ish, nice examples too. i put baffles in mine for a trackday and it's still fkin loud lol.... for the road i think they'll be coming out tho. god help whoever is behind me!
Sorted, note to self not to ride behind you on the road lol! I've just been browsing e bay and MCN, there's some cracking bikes for sale, I am swayed towards a red or black model tho.
nearly done.... cant make my mind up whether to use these lowers or the pyramid in the garage,...this fits better and will protect the covers but looks like theres something missing in the middle to me... i'll see what it looks like when theyre bracketed proper and with decals on. also i dont like that honda wing - it's too small & i sholdve lined it up with that diagonal contour so its in line with the firestorm logo. see, this is how it was before.... the difference is it had black wheels and a pyramid belly.... i wanted to keep it like this but with with a proper paintjob instead of rattlers. mmmmh, undecided which to use - you see what i mean tho about summat missing in the middle?
finished sorting the brakes & clutch, added some more decals (had to order some more honda wings to reposition them on the tank) fixed the gear linkage as it was out of line & hitting the lowers... just got to find some mesh for the front grill - the stuff ive got is too coarse and looks poo. the brackets on the lowers were a bitch to fit lol
looks cracking with the decals added mate :thumbsup: but i much prefer the pyramid belly, the other one doesn't look quite right to me.
i was going to sell it but as i got it for free i decided to keep it.... it wants spraying up tho cos it's mingin lol. i might change them over at some stage but for the moment it's wearing the powerbronze one and it covers the one casing i couldn't get clean! just about to take it out for a short spin... you know how it is when you've rebuilt sumat.. usually get half a mile then realise the gear lever is upside down or forgot to tighten the rear wheel spindle lol. had the ped out this morning too... carburation needs sorting tho... mega flat spot at 50mph, just wouldnt rev out, but saying that it's still got the oem cdi on so it could be that was hoping to get a good ride in today but promised id fix the brakes on the mg for the mrs she hasnt realised i blew 6 gallon of unleaded out of it this morning lol

just got back from the 1st ride in 2 weeks - god i needed that! first ride on the storm since november & what can i say..... got lots of splatted flies on it atm so it's having a bath in a min! love it. deceptively quick... goes round corners almost upright 20mph quicker than my zx750r. the new tank grips are brilliant. verdict on the new progressive rear spring? er.... i think i need to try it on the soft setting lol, nearly had me out the seat a few times but it does dig in a lot better... no more hopping when changing down 3 for roundabouts 'i'll only be 5 minutes' turned into a 87 mile run lol - glad to have it back
well its still taxed & mot'd but it needs rebuilding mate... dont think it'll see the road again tbh, at least not with lights and stuff. it's all coming off so i can use it for track days. needs the new engine & headers fitting, a good clean up then respray the single seat in green and buy a fibre track fairing for it. no rush like.
martin what mesh do u want for the front ill sort u out. with mesh i mean :give_rose: . let me no what u what then come to my works
nice one m8 - just something i can cut with snips... also need to cut out for the front header... it's just trim really & to protect the oil filter from bricks thrown up off the tyre the stuff i was going to use is off a kwak rad cover bit it looks like chicken wire lol! whereabouts do you work bud? hoping for an early finish tomorrow like, im only going to a bakery in mcr & doing some breathing air tests.

nah i wanted it like that m8. had stickers all over it last time & just wanted the minimalist job i havent lacquered over the decals this time so if i get bored with it i can change it whenever.
yeeeehaaa it passed mot with no advisory cant tax it til tomorrow though cos dvla havent updated the record due to the public holiday. fk em, im off out anyway, got a copy of mot & insurance cert just in case i get a tug & cheers for the stainless mesh bud - looks top. you're right - it's a basterd to cut lol!
got out for a 200 miler round derbyshire, cat n fiddle, long hill, matlock, ashbourne down some ace roads thx to cheeky kev's directions, then nipped to darley moor to spectate minjer but they'd all packed up lol... carried on back the way i came, back up the fiddle then turned off down toward congleton & back on the a50. fkin love this bike get this though... did 173 miles before fuelling up, about 15 mile after the fuel light came on - filled up 14.7 litres (3.23 gallons) 173 / 3.23 = 53.6 mpg by anybodys standards that is fking good, and as you know i do not hang about lol
