just off the a44 in rhayader

been there a few times with the vtr forum - belting rideing routes - eg the awesome crossgates run, elan valley etc.
close to the seaside at aberystwyth, borth, barmouth - some brill pubs & eateries in the village ten mins walk away.

excellent ride there & back - about 120miles for most of us

camping is £7 a night with a fiver deposit for a pass card for the gates.... showers, washrooms, good bogs etc.
beautiful location.

and theyre also very bike friendly - unlike other places!!!

what more do you want!

Sounds good, only done the crossgates road in darkness, can't wait to do it when I can see where I'm going.

 

i dont care where we go....just want to ride....have fun....and have a few drinks :drunk:

 

the tenters are on a separate side from the caravans btw.... near the stream.
they dont mind bbq's as long as no wood fires for safety reasons.

you get a lot of off roaders staying there too as its smack in the middle of some of the best off road routes too - near toms farm...

i'll see if i can find some pics of the campsite from the vtr site and add them.

elan valley is simply breathtaking

friday night curry house in the village, saturday mega ride-out and beer, sunday chill & ride back

tbh ive done shell island before and i swore never again.

fkin kids everywhere, nobheads playing speeded up techno at 3 am and mates tent got robbed while we nipped out for food.
and it gets fkin rammed.
must be me getting old but i'd rather just be able to chill with mates tbh! (not luminous ones winky!)

rhayader is just nice - not too far, just right.

sue, we went past it on the aber to crossgates run last year..... on the right just before coming into rhayader village.

3 times ive stayed there now and intend to go back this year defo. its that sort of place

 

for chilled out camping cae du, just by tywyn on the a493 and you can have fires

 

i have an idea....lets have one trip a month

 

I'm game if I can get the days off

 

its weekends

 

Good idea wot about a few midweek trips as well.
