uh>? whats hard about it? dead easy. aim for 190 / 130 and let the software do the rest for you. have a look at them tuning links at the porting software...
fkin ouuuuuch! just tried kickstarting the bitch in the garage... compression is so high lol, it needs a decompressor! bloody kickstart lever went right through the sole of my shoe & made a right mess of my foot!! bastid thing! leccy start struggles to turn it over as well - need a bigger battery on it. cba now but i'll fit my spare firestorm battery next time im in the garage.
took off the variator case to take a look at the kickstart gear, which seemed to be sticking. (didnt think the damage the other night was caused by high compression - it seemed more like a mechanical problem) as i expected, the kickstart cam gear is stripped :/ same as on my spare one... so by chance i took a look at the gear from a spare chinese 4t engine in the garage.... it's an identical match and undamaged result!! amazes me how so many parts are interchangeable! while the casing is off i'm going to cut some more cooling holes then strip it bare and repaint it
what a dog that was to fit lol. the kickstart spring kept binding up on itself so the kickstart lever wouldnt return - sorted it after about 2hrs! need to retap the casing holes though as some of them are stripped out & can only get 4 bols in the vari cover. i decided to polish up the casing instead of painting it. as ive got a spare one i'll take my time with it and do a nice job finally got to road test it.... never really been one for running in 2 strokes, instead i like to load the rings, hard throttle then back off, then again, then again for just a few miles to get the rings to bed then nail it lol. anyone want to take a guess how far i got before it seized lol :/ about a mile lol. :O no biggy. was only a nip and it got me home no probs. i'll whip the head off tomorrow and make sure it's ok! oh - & it's fast lol! not sure about top end as i didnt want to leather it but it takes of like sh*t off a shovel & gets to 50mph as quick as it hit 30 with the 47mm kit
got a 115 in it m8 and needle at the top - them 6mm keihin jets fit sound. i think it nipped up cos i gave it a bit too much trying to get it ti power wheelie lol ive got the black cover on atm cos the other is off for polishing, plus the bushes have gone in it where the kickstart pinion and starter bendix sit. might be why the bendix wasnt engaging cos the bush was throwing it off the the side a bit.
this project is great.if i seized my motor i would be pissed off for a month.a rebuild on a ped costs 50 quid and takes half a day so its a win win situation cos the oily fingers bit is as enjoyable as the ride...keep up the good wood work and who cares if things blow up now and then
yeh no biggy m8 its a cast barrel so worst case is a set of rings and hone. tbh i was a bit dubious about the piston to bore clearance - its at 0.0024" which is a bit on the tight side.. service limit is 5 thou = maybe 3-4 wouldve been a better choice i'll do some coolig mods before i take it out again - ive got a big fan to go under the seat and the cooling ducting meeds modding a bit. ill take a vid next time
fkin thing. failed again lol went the car shop for some 2 stroke oil, superb, started up great, pulled great, got it off the clock past a load of disgruntled cagers in a wacky races d*ck dastardly cloud of smoke  went to start it up outside car shop, fkin variator cover fell off. hanging on by one bolt meaning the kickstart & lecky starter was missing the start gear i knew the threads were fkt but it seemed ok - obviously not lol. fortunately the car shop had some 2" 1/4 unf bolts which grip ace in a loose m6 thread so off we go. or maybe not.... the kickstart lever was sticking down again and wouldnt come back up. i thought fk it i'll fix it when i get back but it cut out at a roundabout so had to pop the cover off again - found a retaining clip had come off and was jamming the 2 starter gears. it's now in the bushes. got it running again and its back in it's pit now every ride is an adventure on these things lol!
lol yeh well i cant leave nawt alone. the casing threads needed doing anyway and the kickstart problem was bugging me so thats another thing fixed. just got to get the jetting right now, mod the cooling with my spare firestorm fan, fit a bigger battery then make the new exhaust system... if i wasnt fkin about with this id be fkin aboutt with something else.... these are cheaper to break lol
nah not worth it for m6 m8 i'll just change them all for the 1/4 unf. its a very similar thread but a bit coarser and .55mm wider. they work very well m6 helicoils btw... what ive done in the past is drill out to 8mm and bang the spring out of a clothes peg in the hole - grips m6 perfect!
