sorry didnt know you were on a 600 yep 7000 is correct its best to do this in the garage at 4am the neighbours love it .....honestly
Anyone know if it would be possible to book on the day? I'd like to go to work first to earn the pennies and the ride down during lunch and get a place for the afternoon (weather permitting). Have looked at so many different arrangements, using my bike in standard trim, buying race fairings and kitting my bike out, or hiring a bike. Still not sure what is the best and cheapest option as I wouldn't like to bin my new bike but at the same time I need to get used to it and remove all nerves and stuff arms going into corners. I've not done a track day for over two years, prior to that I've done Rockingham, Silverstone and Oulton x2 - so what group is best for a rusty old git trying to overcome nervousness from the last crash? Previously I was mid league in intermediate group, but that was over two years ago...possibly three.
We might pop down in the car or on the new bike (if its dry/if we have it by then/if we can find a babysitter for a few hours) to watch! Edit: ah nevermind... Robs in work.. Sent from my Samsung Galaxy Note
the most enjoyment will come form you riding your bike as it is. if you want to start splashing out on pattern this and pattern that etc, then dont like it ..its an expensive day. if you listen to the instructors heed their advice...you will have a good fun safe day. dont push on to fast too soon. most spills are within three laps from the start . this is because it takes three laps for the tyres to get up to operating temps , poss more in real cold weather . so start with caution, build up speed and lean as you go along if i was you id book novice...to the morning sessions, if you feel you are too fast for the group mention it to one of the instructors and move up to the inters after lunch. yes .you will be able to turn up on the day and pay as you ride......BUT ONLY if places are free. nearly all track day lads watch the weather and the week before will see a mad influx of bookings. i would call MSV a week before ask what availability there is in the required group and make a decision then from reading on here the novice group will sell out well before the date
We are there testing the new bike, as like the lads said above I know that a lot of racers are using this day to test and blow the winter cob webs off. That's not saying that anything is going to be any different. Just enjoy your day, we will be heading for a garage near to the toilet end of the paddock. It would be good if I got to meet the guys that I have not seen before and catch up with the lads that I have. I will be there all day in the fast group, if anyone is struggling or would like some advice please don't hesitate to come over and have a chat. NWB has been good to me so I would like to pass on what I can. See you all there, by the way it's going to be the bikes unveiling on that day. Tom from SlickShotKustoms will be present, wait till you see his work. The prep and pictures to date are off the chain.
Ey, we will have all three sets in the van (wets, dry and inters). See you all there, hopefully this shitty weather pisses off, or else I will not be going. By the way the bike will be kitted out with the new bodywork, wait until you see it.
Ill be going in the tin box with my camera Hope you chaps get lucky with the weather Ill be coming from St. Helens so if any needs any kit taking up let me know ill be getting to oulton for 8.30 am
If the temps over 10 deg, ( and Dry) will pop over on my bike ( wife got the car) for a watch , nice to meet some new members and see some old ones.
