Might book this if I know my bikes going to be finished, need some track time to set the bike up and blow the cobwebs off, haven't been on a bike since I done my superman impression at portimao oct 2011 :0 PS ill be in fast or inters depending on how I'm feeling
nope, but you can reserve one, for £25 so you are guarenteed a garage. but early bird catches the worm.
Trust me at Oulton Park there are so many you wont have an issue and there never ever gonna sell more than 100 places this time of year
what rules ?????? how many times have you been round Oulton ? or if none have you done a few track days else where ? i agree with Darren your wasting £25, if you book a garage . if you all chip in £2.50 each just book one for all of you and tell them when you book it the riders names so you all have a reserve place
im quite interested, i have no previous track day experience whatsoever. never had my KD or anything. Do you get any help, tuition etc?
yep , book into novice group , the instructors take you out for three laps as sighting laps , to show you the race lines etc...then its off you go !! if you want a one to one instruction, book this with the instructor as soon as you arrive on the day, as it gets filled up. we then take you out for a 20 min session, we lead for three laps at your pace , we will see how quick you are going from our mirrors. we show the correct entry, apex and exit of the corner. this you need to follow close behind, not to the left or right of us, BEHIND, we are showing you the correct line of that particular corner, which in turn gets you in the correct postion for the next corner. after three or four laps when we see you are getting a bit more consistent, we wave you through and follow you. AT most MSV track days, we place cones around the circuit. red green and yellow , the red one is a brake marker, around this area brake and line up the approach to "hit" the yellow cone, which will be on the apex of the corner. the green cone is the exit of that corner, TIP when you see the red then yellow cones, look directly for the Green one......your bike will go where your looking . If we see you having probs, we return to the pits, discuss and go back out. at the end of the session we give you a de brief of what we saw, how you can improve, and where. DO not be pressured to ride quick than you can . DO not get involved in racing against lap times or racing other riders. DO not undertake when the bike in front is lining up an approach to an apex. ENJOY
And another tip that I've had past to me, if it rains and your not sure, don't ride! You'll lose the fee but better than losing your bike! Just remember that your not racing and that overtaking everyone on the back wheel isn't going to win you anything so try to have fun by setting targets and focus on the corners rather than the straights. It's a laugh and you guys will love it. I'd join but I'm banned from tracks until after Florida...... Sent from my SV650s using Tapatalk
HOW MUCH ?????? kin ell !!!!!!!!! for around £150 you can hire a full blown trackbike Gsxr 600 /750/ 1000 you give about £400 deposit and if you "wreck " the bike you lose the deposit. drop and just brake a lever will cost next to nothing ! you use brand new tyres etc so it would be cheaper to do that than take out insurance MCE advertise it at £99 ! i have not looked into it though http://www.mceinsurance.com/bikes/trackday-bike-insurance/
Booked on this in the novice group, First timer on a track day so looking forward to meeting you others in the group and havin a good day. Cheers, Dave.
there will defo be a noise restriction on an MSV day at oulton , id say it will be 102db but check out the listing of the advertised day. they are quite strict here if you ride a 1000cc bike they make you rev to 5500prm for a static test and they also monitor for a ride by test on certain parts of the track, you will not be allowed on if you fail the static, but you are given a chance to correct the noise. if you have a loud can on, its worth taking the baffles with you just in case. last summer TWICE..a ducati panigale in std form failed the noise test and was not allowed on !! crazy for bikes of that expense.....and its a throughbred race bike.
EVERYONE BE WARNED........................ Track days are addictive, its like the first time you had a wank :lmfao: Do one and theres no going back youll want to do it every day :welcome:
