Don't wish to sound smug or anything but if you look at page 4. Er hm. And I paid you a compliment of sorts. Lol. Sent from my GT-I8190N using Tapatalk
Are you able to remove the head with engine in situ? If possible it will save you a bit of time in the initial damage survey. If the bike is cheap and nasty I'd be tempted to throw another cam chain at it before wasting more money buying someone else's grief.
I just don't know what other damage has been done I'm tempted now to just go and remove the bottom crank case and see if anything else ruined but don't know if any valves are damaged or anything :/ Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I know Carl and Mozz have offered to help, so without treading on "their" toes so to speak, if you get stuck mate, your more than welcome to drop your engine off at mine and I can take a look for you next week. I'm in Widnes btw
im thinking of asking some more questions about this spare engine and then seeing what i can do from there and just put it in
I see your frustration but I wouldn't part with 100 quid if I only had to part with 20..............whip the head off it the sensible thing to do
yeah i know just depends how long it takes to get to here from korea though, with shipping fees on top of that, new o rings gaskets and the such
I know you rely on the bike and understand your frustration.....but.......stop posting on here and get taking the head off, its only 4 bolts if I recall, then you would know the answer and your decision will be made for you.
Good advise from Mozz mate, if the piston hasn't interfered with the valves then you'll only be looking at a camchain and some gaskets!
