If my chain snapped I'd want to split the cases just to check no metal/shite has gone down into the sump. Good luck with the engine swap !
Single cylinder so hopefully his top end was at top dead center or near to it still cleaning overspray
could be lucky and just need a chain.............like i said i could take the head off with him but putting it back together is a different matter

its gotta be worth taking the head off and getting an opinion on it before shelling out any cash, i know how much you rely on it for work and need a quick fix but it could be a simple chain which is about 20quid............strip it and see, you cant be any worse off

how old is the bike amd how many miles etc?. its a longshot but maybe contact the dealer. with it being a major mechsnical thing, you may be able to get it done even out of warranty. sale of goods act and all that shit
