The guy i got the bike from did the clocks mate and are calibrated to mph, i could see about getting some copies done of them if you want?

Got some more done on the bike today, put the radiator fan back together and fitted the rad and connected all coolant hoses, also got the carbs mounted and throttle cables fitted aswell as coils mounted and plugged into right firing order, oh and clutch cable fitted and adjusted. Then went out to the local bike meet in st annes :D

A few more bits done today not much but too be honest there really isnt that much left to do :D, cant wait to get it in for mot and get it taxed.
Right things i done today, gave the rear sets a clean and mounted them and mounted the rear brake res and hoses, thats it for today as only spent an hour on it.

Res and hoses fitted, i need to take the rear pegs off and give them a spray in hammerite black when i get some
    [IMG]

Things left to do, spray rear pegs, spray side stand, put discs on, chain and sprockets, new battery, put front calipers on and rear, clean rear caliper bracket, get new mirrors, new oil and filter, new coolant, fit exhaust and can.
Then its just the fairings which i need to sort out, going to plastic weld them as they have a clean break.

    Wont be long now

I need my own place so I can work on bikes inside haha, or a garage at least.

Working out in the street is just pathetic haha can't imagine the luxury of sitting on the couch with a bru working at it one piece at a time.

Outside you're either rushing to avoid the rain - or doing it in the rain xD

Sorry not been an update for a while, been busy trying to sort the 23 out gone through most the charging system and the battery is showing 12.7 no matter what revs its at so i suspected the reg/rec i did test the rr and was showing no ohms, but i haven't tested the genny windings so will check that tomorrow, if they dont show any ohms or are out then i have a another winding here which i have tested and good so hopefully will have 23 running again.
I didnt suspect the reg/rec first as its brand new from GF and only been run 6-7 times :(.

Anyway the 29, i put the "spare" engine in i bought for £40, put water in just to test and fitted the tank cranked her over and it did start for about 2 seconds then died, noticed water coming from the head so thought ok head gaskets gone.
Took engine out cylinder cover off and all the bolts were loose :S, took head off and its obvious the head gasket was blown but the tool who had the engine has tried fixing it with..............wait for it................silicone seal  :pmsl:
In doing this piston 1 had rust on the top and the cylinder bore is scorched and has a 1mm deep patch out on it around 1cm each way, its a shame though because the other 3 cylinders and pistons are like brand new, perfect cross hatchings on the bores as if its just come out the factory. So plan with that engine is get cylinder 1 re honed clean up the piston and will need a set of pistons for number 1 cylinder and a new head gasket.

But for now im getting some bolt extractors tomorrow as the engine i got with the bike is nearlly built i just need to do valve clearances and were the coolant pipe bolts into the engine 2 bolts are snapped off (previous owner), so ill sort that out do valve clearances and get that engine in and should fire up nicely.

Oh and i also got hold of the guy i got the bike from as i still haven't recieved the discs and v5 even though i sent him money for delivery of the discs, and he replied saying his sorries and asked for my address again so he can get them sent.

    Sorry for the essay lol

Finally got round to doing the valve clearances, also put all coolant pipes on and got the engine in and hooked up.
Connected all electrics and tested and we have power wooooop lol.
Need to wait for some spare cash so i can get new oil and filter and coolant then can start her up and make sure she runs after the engine rebuild :D

Just 2 pics for you today

Cleaned up the front and rear calipers today, bit of soap and water worked a treat they weren't too bad. Also took the pistons out and cleaned them up aswell, trying to decide on if i should put the standard brake hoses on or get some braided hoses.

Rear caliper on still need to clean the bracket though but back wheel will be coming off again anyway

Decided to stick with the original brake hoses, after all the reason im building this is to keep it as original as possible lol, so got them fitted got all coolant hoses fitted.
Only thing left to do on the bike now is oil filter and oil, new coolant, get a rear brake MC, bleed the brakes balance the carbs and fit the fairings and thats it done :( and can't find any were else that does the original graphics.

I have looked on cms at the original graphics for the pieces of fairing which are being fixed and its going to be hard getting them as most of the ones i need have been discontinued :( and can't find any were else that does the original graphics.

Oh almost forgot i need to find out the paint code of the engine casings so i can respray them as there a little scuffed.

New brake pads fitted, just need to bleed the brakes
    [IMG]
Rear master cylinder fitted, still need to take pillion pegs off and have them powder coated
    [IMG]
Head needs a clean and spray like rest of engine
    [IMG]
Chain and sprockets on, just waiting for the chain link from GF so can fit chain properly
    [IMG]

As we've discussed in other threads, its a shame that insurance on that bike for myself is silly money otherwise i would be making you an offer. Sorry to hear about your dog, i dont have pets myself but I understand.
