id love to go the tt but it seems like a logistical nightmare! gonna start small with a bsb weekend then build up from there to ulster gp, nw200 and eventually the tt. very jealous of you guys who go annually :)

I don't think its hard to organise/book itself for the TT......
It just seems if you haven't been, you can't get in a b and b or best ferry times/places go to those booking as they are leaving!! Ready for the following year...
So if you don't know the crack or any b and b owners,campsites... Etc ie:newbie! Its hard....
I am determined for next year....

Like you its bsb twice for me this year and rides out!

A group of us rented out a Scouts Hut last year, just took sleeping bags and essentials with us. They had a lock up for about 6/7 bikes, sports hall for sleeping (great acoustics for the snoring bastards), shower, full kitchen and a board room for planning routes etc. All in all, it was frickin' awesome because we didn't have to deal with anyone else and the weather was perfect. We're off again this year, but not sure about 2015... I want to do a European tour at some point.

I admit I thought we were on to a winner when I saw cupboards labelled with Tuesday Beavers and Thursday Beavers, but apparently that's something very different.

It's not hard mate, if you book the ferry at the end of May or early June you will get your pick of the crossings. Camping is always available, it's just a problem if you get a week with shit weather. But some campsites are on farms and they will often let you use outbuildings to dry off etc.
Hotels and B&Bs are a bit more tricky, but you will defo get one if you book a year off.
When you go for the first time you could have a look at places to stay the following year.
The people are generally very friendly. I remember a couple of years ago it was VERY wet on race week. The locals set up a phone number that would put you in touch with people who would let you have a shower and dry your stuff in their houses! Great stuff eh?
