    Canned peaches eaten with the knife you used to open the tin. Nice out of the fridge on a hot day too

    So here's mine.

    Basic Ragú sauce (aka, Bolognese Sauce!)

    You'll need;
    • 2x medium carrots
    • 2x medium onions
    • 1000g beef mince
    • 4x tins of chopped tomato
    • a little vegetable oil
    • a food blender/processor
    • a stock pot (I use a 7L pot)
    • a wooden spoon
    • a sharp knife

    What you do;

    • Peel and finely dice both carrots and onions and put it into the stock pot.

    • Cover with a fine layer of vegetable oil and heat on largest hob, stirring until veg is golden brown.

    • While the veg is cooking, empty the tins of tomato into the food blender and blitz them until a purée remains (I have to do it in 2 stages as 4 tins don't fit in our blender)
    [IMG]
    • Add the 1000g of mince into the stock pot and stir until the mince is cooked and blended in nicely with the veg.

    • Add the tomato purée to the stock pot and mix until blended in with the mince and veg.
    • Cook on high heat for 10 minutes, leaving it to bubble away nicely.

    • Reduce the heat (or place on a medium burner on medium heat) for around 1 hour, leaving the pot uncovered to boil away excess water and oil. Keep stirring every 10-15 minutes to stop it from sticking to the bottom on the pot and burning.
    • It's ready when the sauce is not as runny but enough tomato to cover the mince.

    This will keep for 4-5 days in the fridge, I usually put it in a plastic container and just spoon out however much you need during this time. To reheat the sauce just place it in a pan and cook until bubbling!

    I usually eat it with a nice plate of Spirali pasta :)

    Top job.

    This is why women go to the kitchen and as you can see us men prefer beans on toast :) haha
