Quick update, had a mare with it last few days. wouldnt start and banging like a good 'un. After the cdi power fault i thought i had a carb/fuel fault .... turns out the blades are easy to foul plugs on and flood and i had managed to flood it when attempting to start with cdi problem. Then it has been flooded since. Removed plugs (which were wet) banged them in the oven for 15mins then fitted them and she starts straight away

Now ive got 14.8v reading +ve/-ve at battery when running and this doesnt increase whatsoever with revs, so im gonna have to start testing the charging cicruit (to make sure i dont blow my new lightweight battery!). Im sure if there is a problem its with the items themselves rather than wiring as most of it is damn new now ive been right through it !

Aye sorry i shouldve done a bit of an update really ...

I decided to swap the renowned unreliable blade reg/rec for one off a superdream. Much bigger, huge cooling fins and also the wires come straight out of the unit. Soldered the stator straight to the reg/rec so no resistance there now. Ive also fitted a cooling fan from a pc.
Started bike up and battery is now showing 14.35v which is perfectly stable and steady whilst revving etc. Havent tested it under load yet but im much happier now with this figure. Gonna just run it locally and see what happens ...

Unfortunately now ive got it all put back together she's decided to run on 3 cylinders. cylinder #1 isnt firing ... Plug is wet with fuel, put plug into oven for 15mins. removed and plugged into the cap, clamped to earth (avoiding magnesium rocker cover) and turn it over. First attempt it doesnt spark for 2 seconds then starts sparking nicely. 2nd spin and it sparks no probs. Re-fit to bike, start it and i think it ran on all 4 for a second then instantly drops onto 3.
It can only be a few things as it was running fine a week ago:

    Spark plug itself
    Cap
    HT lead
    Coil

Oulton is coming up and im working so wont be able to look at it til next week now :( Think i might just get new Leads and plugs anyway as the leads look like the originals and the plugs werent changed

cheers, i didnt wanna go down the black route as everyone seems to do it (not that i dont like black, i love matt black, just wanted sommet that would pop)

Just another update to keep ya'll posted on recent events ...

faffed around for ages with it starting/not starting/missing ... turns out the plugs were fouling intermittently so i put a new set of plugs in and it runs spot on

Funny little story: went to take for mot other week and put it into '1st' ... big clunk and set off but i was having to slip the clutch loads and loads. sommet not right. Pulled upto junction and went all the way down the box. 'right that should be 1st now' ... same again but even more slippage and soon as i let it go all the way out it just juddered like mad. Gutted. (i shouldve realised the issue right there and then) cancelled mot and started looking at neutral and 1st gear issues on the net, as if it wasnt engaging it properly. Long story short, i had received the bike with the gear linkage on the wrong way (upside down) and hence it was on race pattern. so i went to 1st and it was actually 2nd, then all the way to 6th haha. It took me to remove the exhaust system, clutch cover and plates and the sump to realise what had happened  . spinning the wheel and knocking it through the gears i wondered what that wierd neutral was between 5th and 6th then the penny dropped. oh well at least i know the clutch and gears are ok now :)

passed mot straight away no problems, asked the mot guy a few burning questions re: whats allowed etc (and was suprised at some of the answers) and took her straight out

good low down pull, slight stutter from about 1500 - 2500 rpm (gonna get carbs sorted fully in one hit)
handles well, seating poition is good and control feels great. subframe is super solid, no worries there and it gets plenty of attention ! exhaust is a bit loud but earplugs will sort that

Also im mega impressed by the bridgestone s20 tyres iv just had fitted, feel amazing straight from the off. No issues to report but havent had them on the very edge yet

    Revived from page 4 haha
Been sooo busy recently with new job / fixing up new mx bike / allowing shoulder to heal / building stuff in garden that i have been AWOL for a while but im back now the new year has kicked in and im ready for summer !
Quick update and a couple of pics of work ongoing atm ...
Having ridden the bike last year (albeit not many times ~25) i've had a few changes / repairs / improvements to make

-ive removed the shift light as at that rpm i need to be looking ahead and not down

-ended up taking off extra rear brake as the cable was wearing away on the ground when banked over on right handers

-the drain tube that runs through the middle of the tank from cap area to bottom of tank has one/more pin prick holes in it (corrosion) which pisses fuel out when filled over half full. petseal will be ordered and thrown down the tube to block it off so i can actually fill her up

-pillion pegs are being designed and will be made before summer (any willing test pilots? haha)

-had a 12v screen kicking round for a while and fancied a rear view camera ... Just offering it up atm and trying to work out best way of mounting / waterproofing it

-There are a couple of areas on the tank where the seat is rubbing so need to protect those

-Mesh is now fitted in the tail unit 'intakes'

-inforad has eventually been updated by my mate as my pc doesnt like the software for some reason. fitting that before summer too

-Scabby area in front of tyre on swingarm has been masked off and painted black to hide its awfulness (powder coat next winter maybe)

Thats about it, i'll update once a bit more has been completed
