shit obs plus filtering bit quick. if he was looking he would of noticed the van and the possibility it could pull out, if you look at the van you can clearly see the woman is running and about to cross.

also nice that he goes after her to make sure she is ok:bang:

Listening to music too by the looks of things, whistling away probably in a world of his own. Seen her coming a mile off.
Think he was going faster than 20 but who knows.
Hope he reported it to the plod even though she walked away.
    Remember running someone over once,
not fast mind, he just got up, apologised and walked off, nothing much I could do at the time except report it.

Appartly he did and they said it wasn't his fault and asked if they should track her down for damage to the bike..

Whoevers fault it was, i don't like how he couldn't be arsed to try and stop the old lady.that fall at that age could have serious consequences also how he carried on whistling, like he couldn't give a toss.hope the old dear was ok.:devilish:

The pedestrian was a Darwinist. She failed to employ the green cross code. She was 100% at fault. Could the bike have done better? Yes. He was a learner doing not much wrong except, failing to recognise the places where he could become a victim, hence he did.

Maybe she'll "Think Bike" before crossing the road again then!

Thats York with the wall on the left just a bit up the road from where that tw@ came at me the wrong way up the one wat street
This was entirely the bike fault in my opinion

    Why ,,,,,?

If that had been a child he could well have killed it.
You expect ALL pedestrians specially those who clearly are not looking at you, to run out, step out or have a dog on a lead you cant see, to dash out in front of you. ANTICIPATION IS THE WORD.......WHAT IF.....And he was lucky she didn't get the police involved... ~Old people don't bounce ~
Twenty miles an hour ? bollocks............ at 20 he could have stopped......even my back brake and engine braking would have stopped at 20 . The ring road isn't a 20 and nobody does 20.

This clip is so like the one where the bloke dashes out from behind a white van to the left and ditches the female rider onto the deck .

So specially when filtering ANTICIPATE..... specially if a new side fairing, generator cover, mirror and rear brake lever is going to cost you over £700...........

    Disagree mate.
I think it's a bit harsh to lay all the blame on the rider.
Yes he was probably traveling too fast, yes he was probably listening to music while riding so he didn't have his "eye" on the ball so to speak and should of seen her or at least anticipated someone walking from behind or in between those cars.

However, the lady didn't do herself any favours by just walking into the road.
At her age she should know better but it is what it is.

Yes he's a learner so don't be too harsh. Isn't part of learning making mistakes?
At least his moral compass was pointing in the right direction and he reported the accident. If she doesn't want to stop then there's nothing more he could do.
As frustrating as it is I've been in a similar position.

I think in the eyes of the law (And just an opinion, so I may well be wrong.) There's a bit of a grey spot when it comes to filtering, and the rider is 80% of the time at fault.

In this case, His observational skills should've been better, the moment I would've saw that van on the right I would've anticipated it pulling out and slowed right down, He was filtering too fast, If anything pops out at you in the road you should always leave enough time to perform and emergency stop. I'm not saying I could've avoided the accident if I was the rider, I probably would've panic braked and sent myself flying.

On the other hand, she might be an old biddy. But there's no excuse when it comes to stupidity like that, If you run into the road expect to get hit. I really think we should bring some form of Jaywalking law into this country, the amount of people I see just stood on the road trying to cross in rush hour traffic is bloody stupid.

it still amazes me why these people put their fuckwitery online for all to see, 60/40 rider fault

Well luckily the law disagrees with you. I some some decades back won a claim against a pedestrian, a 14 year old boy for virtually the same thing, except I was doing 30 and clouted him up the street with a Kawasaki GT750 complete with Polaris II fairing. I managed through my solicitor to extrude £2,500 out of his parents home contents policy on a public liability clause.
RR if you or I had that accident we would deserve a right royal pissing taking. However, we can't put our experience heads on young shoulders. At 50+ that pedestrian should know much better.

i dont get this hes a learner .riding a motorcycle involves being a learner all your riding life.switch off for 1 sec and it could be catastrophic. ACCIDENTS HAPPEN. some can be avoided, others are not so avoidable.Ride safe, ride defensively.

I would say 50/50 , not going to bleat on about it though , But I have noticed over the yrs that pedestrians have become very very careless in their approach to crossing roads.
