maybe so but it would also shift my axle like a carousel on speed lol. hopefully this will help explain why one wouldnt work...
as long as you line the head back up with the plate and put tension on the adjuster bolt it will spin the nut off. it's an impact gun don't forget, it's not all about spinning the nut to undo it.
i understand your thinking but if you look carefully, in my previous attempt of something similar ive half fucked the head of the adjuster bolt too lol. i somehow strip every bolt/nut/thread i touch so from now on, the less bolts i touch the better. i don't wanna end up snapping the bolt off in the swing arm somehow and making an even bigger job of it when i can just whack a socket over it and replace the adjuster block. cheers for the thought though... it would probably work if i hadn't had my hands on it first haha
Where they using a Machine Mart special air gun lol? Agree with bloke, inch windy will piss it off. I know you've ordered a fresh adjuster block but surely popping into ATS will be easier than hacking into your adjuster to get a socket on.
Nope, not yet. Still waiting on millennium to get the part in. Ordered it friday, they said it would be in on wednesday and theyd call me when it was. Rang yesterday and was told they'd ring me straight back as parts department already on a call... must be a very annoyed customer on the phone to him cos they've still not rang me back :rage: Tried jamming some allen keys in the space to give the axle more grip.tried the heat method agajn, wd40'd it to death and Gave it a few bashes with a hammer on a socket and still no luck.. infact ive now half strippex the bolt head of the axle itself. Now have a new axle and nut ordred online and im just gonna cut the bastard nut off and replace the whole axle too unless millennium get their arse in gear soon. Mot due sometime this month so depending when that is will determine whether I take it the shop to try again with the cutting into the adjuster method, or whether I do the above.
i dont get how, when there is nothing to stop the axle rotating and i cant tension the chain adjuster up to put any pressure on it. i shall humour you and take it to ATS tonight if i can get there before it closes. hopefully im wrong, if so ill buy you a pint for your bold caps-locked troubles lol.
That may be handy actually... on the faces of the parts department of millennium motorcycles who still havent called me back
