Elliot that looks a mess mate !! looks like the only bit thats undamaged is that crash bung. Although you sound pretty bashed up id say you got off lightly judging by the pics, where and how did this happen, I do hope you fully recover and get back in the saddle. Best wishes fella.

    Thanks guys.
Like I said the crash is a mystery to me however after fitting a 70 tyre against the regular the front felt very easy to unsettle. This ride was the first time I'd tried this out in the dry. I'd kept saying to everyone "it feels like its trying to spit me off"
So on a straight I "think" I've been unsettled by a manhole cover and then the fun started.

As for injuries I'm so very thankful that I've not ended up worse. And really believe someone was looking out for me.
As for riding, short story, no. I'm taking a break from the big bikes (on road anyway) I can't risk it until I'm able to afford better training etc

Thank you very much for all your thoughts.

Fookin hell mate, you've smashed that up good and proper. After seeing that damage, it does seem like your lucky still to be with us. If your staying off the road, mate then keep it for a track bike to help build your confidence back up at a pace your happy with. Hope your injuries heal quickly tho mate

Get well soon fella. If your staying off the road for a bit and depending on the condition of your frame then it might be worth tracking it, gsxr front end swap ?

shit elliot. glad your still with us!!!!!
im guessing when you say you swapped the front tyre to a 70 it originally had a 60 or 65 profile on it?
tbh id be very surprised if this had anything to do with it. i used to change the front on my zx6r 's as they ran a 65 profile a std and tyre choice was limited. i got speaking to the lads at b&c tyres (who used to be the tyre techs for many fast bikes tests) who advised swapping for a more conventional 120/70. had to raise the mudguard a bit as the tyre is a bit taller, BUT it actually made the bike more stable, and i had to drop the yokes 5mm down the forks and raise the rear the same to get it to turn sharp.

anyway just do what feels best. have a break if thats what you need then weigh up what you feel is the right thing for you.

in all honesty seeing your pics in your sig you can ride a bike on a track, but this is the 3rd pretty serious accident you've had on the road in a short-ish riding career, and id hate to see you run out of luck?
chill, heal and take some time to reflect.

    best of luck mate.
