Should probably narrow it down to the two most popular and get those who voted for the least popular options to re-vote, rather than add new options.

Guys it's gone from a x mas party to a night out in Blackpool, I for one will not be able to afford that.

We originally said that we would have it in one venue so that we're all together and people can bring there other half's along with their kids, we also agreed that we could give out some trophies from the beastrun and maybe we could do a few other bits.

Pub crawls will end up with a lot less people attending and people going in different directions.

I am all for a single venue in any town

Well there are quite a lot more votes for a pub crawl, so I'm not sure how fewer people will attend.

The benefit of a pub crawl to me is that it can take place in a city/town centre right by main public transport links, so (if you don't want to stay) it's possible to get home late without having to drive or rely on a lift. Any private venue (that doesn't cost lots to hire) would usually be some social club (?) located away from a city centre and transport links, meaning that you have to stay somewhere, or taxi it, or drive, or rely on someone else going your way not to drink. Which is OK if your Mrs is driving you, but a bit useless if you live 30/40/50 miles away and need to make your own way, but want to drink.

Alternatively, it would be very easy to (for example) get the train into Manchester from pretty much any direction. You can then meet, drink, crawl (etc.), and get a 1am train home (they run from Manchester as late as 1-2am).

Unless you can find a single venue right by a major transport link (city centre Warrington/Manchester/Wigan), I can't see how it's cheaper for most.

Alex the point is that it's Christmas and whilst some guys and girls are single and can afford to go out for a pub crawl there are those with a mortgage and kids who can't, I would rather everyone who wants to come can, so were all together however I fully understand members who want a pub crawl and a club it's just that there will be far less people turn out.

That's a good point Daz also people have work nites out so the cost soon mounts up. If we get a hall say in Warrington and if people than decide to go on a crawl than its the best of both worlds than and everyone is happy.

    Ditto.

I'm still not sure why a pub crawl needs to be much (if any) more expensive overall. Travel and accommodation is likely to be the thing that would make it expensive rather than inexpensive, not the activity itself (unless your idea of a pub crawl necessarily involves strip clubs!).

In respect to the bold text, it works both ways. Not everyone will just 'want' to come regardless. They'll decide whether they want to come based on what's happening, how much it'll cost them, and whether they think it's worth it. So you need to make sure that the majority of those who can come, want to come (hence the vote).

Maybe (as has been suggested in the other thread) there should be separate events.
