Never bump started anything in my life, wouldn't know how to haha Trying to rumpoldstiltskin round to help me out haha
I've had mixed success bump starting. My rs and zx6 were really easy to get going. Fireblade not so easy....maybe the slipper clutch? Was a bit tricky. The twins, especially the SP :laugh:....park it up and find some jump leads! Hope you get the problem sorted soon and get it running.
Im in Upholland sue, looks like im off work now tmw (weds) as I'm in work now got called in. So if I get a dry spell, might try bumping it
Starter relay has properly gone or fuse in it has blown. Take off the seat fairing panels. On the throttle side of the bike there is a small round starter-should have a red rubber cap on it. Lift that. Check the fuse there, think it was a 25 or 30 amp one. Generally the main cause on my old one. I'll pop down later if you've not been called in?? Text/call me
I'll pop down tomorrow evening after Uni then, got a carpet and stair lift to re-fit at me Grans on Friday then in work at 6.
Had a bit of a look at it today, found an alarm box that looks pretty well wired in, and the battery has gone completely dead, so I connected my cbr battery up and could basically hear the alarm attempting to sound, I think that has been trying to sound and flattened the new battery, damnit! So got the battery back on the oximiser to try and get it recharged. Found a blown fuse too, so need to work out what fuse it was, and probably try to disconnect the alarm and see if that gives me any joy.
Think you will have take that alarm off before you start because if it's an immobiliser your getting no joy if you have no fob mate Sent from brads pad
There is a fob but its not making any difference to it, might try and get it disconnected tmw morning
Was going to, but the bloody hailstorm put me off haha, Upholland is just past Orrel, on the way to skem from Wigan
Cheers sue, will let you know how I get on, will was meant to be coming to have a look, but I keep cancelling on him, just so bloody busy all the time.
Looks like this could be the root of all evil A quick google shows quite a few people having problems with this type of alarm system. If I can work out how to remove it I could well be back in business
Follow the wires and look for where the black wire changes to a coloured wire. Cut the blacks off and join the correct colours back together. There will be 2 circuits that need connecting back up as above.
