i was referencing the iphones there dude, im android all the way ! Had a HTC desire before this S2 and i struggled to stop myself using that one. In fact, i still have it ... I would never change, even if someone offered me a free iphone. I cant say iv ever tried using voice recognition on my android but never thought it was that mcuh of an advantage, unless your fingers are really tired or hungover lol

KTM dude, its funny you know because im well aware that Apple make a really good product ... really good in SOME areas but not the areas i feel really matter to the end user [read as THIS end user]. They feel soooo great in the hand, the fractionally weighty feel to them makes them feel solid (though they shatter if you even show them a piece of concrete) and overall are very easy to use / navigate. However, the whole corporate-shafting-the-little-guy (similar to what i feel microsoft do with the 360 and xbox LIVE) really grinds my gears and made me resent them and everything they do. i mean bringing a phone out (the 4s) that has like 3 different things from previous is, to me, just a money making scam (Ok ok i know its a business and a ridiculously profitable one at that) but i feel the product you recieve doesnt justify the price tag, over and over and over again. If they were'nt holding back their latest and greatest ideas (or those floating around) and drip feeding them to the public they'd have it sussed ! I think they struggle coming up with more than a few ideas where to go next ...

Just off track slightly, I'd love to be able to plug my memory stick into the bottom of my phone (via cable if needs be) and play my vids from gopro on the fly. Would be brilliant !

Yeah, the iPhone can be fragile I agree. Before I got a case I dropped it a about a foot onto bathroom tiles and the back smashed :-( glad it wasn't the screen or it would have been serious money.
I use a MacBook in work, so I am biased I suppose, I have never used the Android etc so that's why I didn't get into the mine-is-better-than-yours debate. I was very happy with the iPhone 4 and wouldn't have got the 4S if it wasn't silly-cheap to upgrade, (why I mentioned O2 recycle to Daz.) I messed about with Siri when I first got it and it seems ok with a UK accent. I dictated a simple text and the right person got the message correctly. I suppose it's a nightmare for the software guys when you think about all the reginal accents etc. I can't understand a lot of people I speak to :)

    Smithy said it best.

If you want something shiny get the iphone 4s.

If you want a phone you can play with and customize, and is easy to use get an android.

I can't think of any arguments to get a blackberry or a windows phone. I feel like they will be dead companies in less than 3 years.

Mate of mine always wanted an Iphone but I persuaded him to get a galaxy s2. He had the s2 for a few months and said he wanted an iphone 4s. He had the iphone 4s for less than a week...then he sold it for £280 and stuck with his s2.

It is personal choice though. Best thing to do is have a play on your mates phones for a bit...I just love how I can change everything on my android phone...

Not sure what phone you have, or what card your gopro takes, but this should work:

    USB card reader:

USB to micro B cable (for most android phones):
    http://www.ebay.co.u...#ht_3267wt_1270

Not sure what format the videos are on the gopro either, but the video player already on android phones should be able to play it. If not you can get VLC media player on the android market.

Haha but who wants to watch a full HD video on a tiny screen ?! admittedly brilliant for setting up but nowt else imo, just extra expense / weight / more fragile. I just liked the whole go pro package, waterproof, very robust, wide range of fixings and angles etc. Tbh i didnt really do much research, just what i should be paying. I figured if all the top sports ppl and tv companies etc are using gopros then i will too :)

Cheers for the links lilday, however im not sure how it would all actually work in practice. I normally get my gopro, plug it in and transfer the video to laptop. Then plugged USB mem stick into laptop and transferred to that. Usually i then plug the mem stick into USB port on my tv and it plays straight thru the tv. If i plugged a USB mem stick into bottom of my phone (using that lead) will the phone recognise it as an external device ? Additional storage space ? i already have 'mx player' which is free and plays damn near anything, including full HD vids downloaded using 'aDownloader' but its the interaction between android phone and USB memory stick that concerns me ...
Have you managed to do it ? Im sure there will be a way (Im aware i can just transfer from laptop to phone as well ;) )

BTW its a Galaxy S2 with 18Gb card and the gopro records in .mp4 ... most videos are a couple of gig hence why i thought store them on a stick and watch them out and about through the phone ...

again been seriously reviewing the htc one x and it looks good but the experia s is still winning me over, i think its more about personal taste really as there both similar phones, one thing for sure apple wont be dominating the market any more as both the htc and experia in my eyes are far better. im not too bad when my contracts up next month if i dont like the experia s ive 14 days to change then ill get the htc. wouldnt mind a bit of feedback on the overall performance tho bikenutter.

I've been using it for 24 hours and its the dogs, it's as light as a feather but I've bought a case as it feels delicate its that light.

It's apps are the same but this new operating system is slick so it gets a big thumbs up
