I'd be very interested to know how they'd get a signal to send a mobile phone message or make a call that far away from land.

That would be the perfect place to base a conspiracy death ray.
Having worked for the government in different roles on and off over many years I find it hard to reconcile the ability to perform and keep secret numerous global conspiracies of mind boggling complexity and the scraping by by the skin of their teeth bumbling idiots I've worked with.
For anyone spying on me my statement could be construed as past tense.

Satellite bounce. Inmarsat. International maritime satellite. How did the passengers of the american jets that crashed make calls and send texts....because the relay system s on planes provide signal. And terrestrial signal woul have lasted till long after the plane flew out over. The malaca straight. this was a modern plane not an ageing 747. The use of phones has long been not allowed not incapable.

I live in one of the densest populated countries in the world (England) with one of the highest concentrations of mobile phone antennae in the world, not in the sticks, on the outskirts of a big city, half the time I can't get a mobile phone signal, in my opinion but I could be wrong I'd say their chances of getting any sort of signal are slim to zero. Frankly I'm not interested in your explanation of why they didn't make calls because I reckon any link between the explanation and the reality would be coincidental.

My elder brother has worked on various military and civilian aircraft design over the years his final project was safety critical systems on the new Typhoon, he's obviously got a good idea about how these things work and unless something comes up as part of the investigation in the way of facts he doesn't think it's anything that couldn't happen to any plane. So I'll still continue to base my ideas on facts, maybe you could give it a go some time.

Good to have different opinions and views on it. Much like anything, you listen to and believe what YOU want to, anything other is nonsense. :)

Do you know how much a sat phone is? Thousands! Normal mobiles aren't Sat phones.

Mobile phones have a very limited range, which is why there's so many antenna's around ( it's pretty much line of sight) Get a ferry and you'll lose signal after about 2 miles. (You can extend this a bit in the air due to being above the curvature of the earth.)

The American planes were over land, well within range of the phone masts needed, hence why they could get texts and messages out.

The system for using a mobile phone on a plane uses its wi fi signal equipment. You dont need a satellite phone. There sre two new systems coming out thst shield avionic nav systems from interference. Its only a radio wave when all is said and done.

Once again what you say is completely wrong, here's an explanation from people who appear to know what they're talking about.

Listen private jets cross the atlantic every day and their occupants live on the phone. Way away from land based relsy masts.
I hsve been there seen it done it .....end of!
. I cant copy the info off the internet onto the phone but when I get the system up and running I will show you.
But in the mean time you might like to read the report from china which descibes the relations still getting a ringing tone when they rang hours after this plane is supposed to have been in the sea. Phones dont work under water. Yet the western news chanels all omited that report.they now also omit the path the plane flew after it turned back , jumping instead to the arc in the western direction down the indian ocean.

Nobody's disputing that but they're set up with sattelite phones to do just that. The problem is you're being selective about what information you're choosing to believe, you've convinced yourself there's some conspiracy behind the disappearance of the plane and you're selecting the "facts" that back your hypothesis up.
So for now I'll continue to base my opinions on information that comes from people who seem to know what they're talking about.

So given it took two years to find the black box from the air france crash how do you find one with no idea at all where the plane crashed
. Ofcourse neither the americsns nor Chinese want to show the extent of their radar coverage. But they must have known exactly whereto look to find something the size of a bike petrol tank in an area four times the size of the north sea.
Of course it was just luck ..........nothing suspicious about it at all.
