Ye I read that earlier in work, but it's dated 2010 so I thought there may be newer rubber out there.

I've always had a mental block against using Dunlops (possibly due to being OE fitment), and have previously used Bridgestone. So I'd also like to try something different.

i found the dunlops great on the blade the higher end ones are alot better .. the OE ones tned to be more budget range for longevity . its worth shopping around but the subject can get confusing after listening to half a dozen different verdicts its really what you want to do with your bike

Dunlops get highly rated in all group tests the 211gp is by far the best all rounder I've ever used and work well in the wet which really surprised me.

The only prob is there the most expensive on the market :D doh!

    Sent using the force :)

Well I'm shite rider, so as long as I'm told they're good tyres I'll ride confidently.
Scenes of Days of Thunder spring to mind, where he's told over the radio that he's got super duper tyres on.

NED revin the hell out of it while i still can

ive used mickey 2ct,s for years and they last about 2-3 k.. i thought they were the bollocks till i got some racetecs of daz ..bike nutter... they totaly transformed the bike..turn in ..stability.... and they stick like shit to a babys bum ..if you have a track focused bike then track focused tyres are a must...the only sacrafice is longevity

i actually know some one a few years ago who couldnt decide what tyres to bye and he actually bought some bridgestones based on the look of the tread cut !

Dunlop Sportsmarts! Had BT16's on a work 'blade, (2008 model) hated them with a passion! The Sportsmarts transformed the bike, they feel loads more stable, yet seem to turn in a lot sharper. I had the Sportsmarts on my R1200S BMW and again they transformed the bike.
I did a track day on the BMW last year, on Pirelli Super Corsa scrubs I got from Daz. Best tyres I've used in the dry and OK in the wet (the Sportsmarts are much better in the wet though).
I've got some Continental shite on my F800R BMW, which are going to be swapped for Sportsmarts come payday.

this is the prob with BMW rob they own big shares of conti so will always fit those tyres, in fairness hey are good on the RT and tour bikes and last for miles and miles, just not too clever on the edge

Got 2ct's on the tuono and have been happy with them. The bike had renn sports on from new ,when I bought the bike I did about 1000 miles on them before changing to 2ct's which I have to say I prefer as a good all round tyre.

Everyone gets used to a tyre that suits there riding, pussies tend to go for touring tyres whilst real men get sports tyres and ride hard

On a serious note I'm gutted the racetecs have gone from bsb but I will be using the Pirelli super corsa from now on.

On my GSXR1000K6 I had Mitch Power Pures, great tyre never had a chance to were them out as I only did 1k miles on the bike. But they were very good and brilliant under breaking.

Had Dunlop Qualifier 2's on the SD when I got it the rear lasted 2.5k miles including a trackday (sig pic was on these). Behaved great on track with no drama but I was only in Inters. The front was very good without letting go or drama under braking the rear a bit looser but never let go. I prefer the rear to move about a bit anyway. Very good in the wet.

Also had a set of scrubbed super corsa's and enough has been said about them.

Have been on Pirelli Diablo Strada's since July this year, for a touring tyre ( :bleh: Daz) they did very well I was expecting worse but they surprised me at how capable they are as an all round tyre. Yes the rear let go a few times when leant full over (with Benny up me chuff :D) plenty of warning and no real drama just a little head shake. Very capable in the wet in northern France and scratching in the dry further south. The rear has done nearly 5k miles needs replacing now so will be putting a Diablo Corsa on as the front is hardly worn.
I wouldn't take the Diablo Strada's on track though I don't feel they are that good and may be a tad hard to fully rely on.

TBH, I think there is very little difference with most modern tyres of a type (track, road, touring) and unless you've ridden the same bike with all the makes it's hard to find a preference. The Pirellis do seem to suit the SD though.
If I hadn't been going to France I would have easily fitted another set of Qualifiers 2's as they are very capable on road and track.

Although I do like Super Corsa's alot.

i agree you need to be a top rider to tell the difference between alot of rubber these days its all down to what makes you tick or in carls land what the tread is like !!!

Try supercorsa sp or metz k3, mitch pilot power 2ct are good but prefer the diablo rosso corsa out of those 2 for front end feel. Those oe ones are crap and probably why you don't get on with the bike so well. The rear should be worn out by now anyway..

well i think power ones look great :)

on a serious note though, i had dunlops on my tuna and loved them, hard to fault them to be honest. then went to power one and the bike just felt 'wierd' didn't ride it for a few months and when i did it felt miles better compared to the dunlops!!!!

did find the dunlops to be harsh/hard on the back end, power one feels more civilised but i never even checked the pressures when i was running the dunlops so who knows????
