    Firstly hello all

I've had my Gixxer litre k6 for four and I'd like to say I try to ride it fairly quick ( when its safe to do so)

I've been using a tyre brand called renn sports in my opinion these are summer tyres track fast road riding in the dry but this year ill be choosing another tyre maybe just to try another set for a change

    Was thinking either
    Michelin pilot power 2 ct

    Dunlop d209 qualifier

    Bridgestone bto16 -- had these on a 600cc bike seemed ok --

Which tyres are you using in the dry ? And what's your marks out of 10

Firstly you know how highly I rate metzler racetecs Ant but as there going to be gone from BSB I have 2 other choices I would use for fast road riding and track days, super corsas or Dunlop 211gp or the newer one I can't remember what there called.

    Sent using the force :)

I've got 2ct on the Z1000 and Battlax on the blackbird. Will probably use the 2ct on the blackbird when they are up.

The qualifier is made as a fast road tyre, not a track tyre.

And it's just coz your bike shreds any tire within 1k!!

I have qualifiers on the bandit 12 and I ride that like I've stole when on my own and I've got no complaints wet or dry , the back went off in about 2-2500 and after consideration I've just put another on there not a bad price either

2cts are kinda saying try me try me

I find with my riding style on the front tyre both right and left in the front tyre gets worn down to its limit before the centre and in the rear its even wear more or less that's using rennsports but that's just in the Isle of Man maybe 8 to 14 days of use

But this year ill just be riding uk for 6 months so I don't I chew them up milling about at uk speeds

Possible try an get a track day at oulton out if them but that's all I need the tyres for this year
    :)

    Cheers for the info

in the dry yes but dont last that long.

im on my 3rd set of sportsmax atm and fkin love them. wet / dry they stick like shit to a duvet and last very well with good even wear, as in they dont flat off.
getting over 5-6k out of a rear and i dont hang about.
the first set i got 11 out of the front and 8 on the rear before changing it!
equally at home on the track if you fancy the odd track day - the sides get well sticky when you put the pressure on.
not the cheapest tyres but well worth a punt if you like a good mix and dont want to be changing them every 2500 miles :)

big thumbs up from me 9.5/10

btw try oponeo.co.uk for supply if you have a trusted fitter nearby..... i use tst tyres and fitted theres only £20 in it so i just go there ride in / out.

Use mich pilot power 2nct's on my duke, found them pretty good,The speel from michelin say develpoed from Moto gp, they quote 53 degree lean and they have really large footprint when leaned over, found they warm up quickly and they're pretty good in the wet, but from reports not as good as Roadsports. Ran them in over 30 miles in the middle of winter and without really trying was over to the edges! got about 2500 miles out of the rear with a couple of track days. obviously not as grippy as racetecs but apparantly theyre not going to be available any more BooHo.

I've got Dunlop OE on the blade, can't wait to get rid of them coz I've had shitty Dunlops in the past and don't feel safe on them.

Was thinking if also like to try Michelins as I've only ever used Bridgestone (BT20, BT21, BT016) in the past.

    I've never tried Pirelli.

    What's the verdict people?

Filly Sold Ool, meant 30 mins(not miles) what am i like! using suitable roadabouts and link roads when Quiet with progressive lean and moderate throttle openings. Put last bit up because we have alot of new novice riders joining the forum!

    2ct are very good.
Only thing ive heard negative about them is they can let go with little warning on the limit.
Never had a problem myself but a few people said the same.
For a dry, fast road tyre you wont go far wrong with a racetec, supercorsa, sportsmart or d211 ntec.
the d211 is meant to be VERY good.
if i could afford them new i would personally get the sportsmarts.

Are any of the BT20, 21 and 16 Dual compound? as a bit ago ran 57's and 010's on my 600 and really liked them, found them great all round tyre for GrIp, Wear,Warmup,Wet etc and they were also Dual compound. Interested to hear what some of the quicker lads on here think ??? We can't all afford what we'd really like!

The BT020 was a single compound tyre aimed at the sports tourer segment - had these on the CBR600F and they lasted a long, long time!

    The BT021 and BT016 were/are multi-compound tyres.
I had the BT016 on the CBR600F (after the BT020), and got plenty mileage from them and even did a trackday with them.

Have a look at the Bridgestone website, very useful information.

tyres are a tricky subject....most average road riders just get used to a certain tyre.....when you pushing on a bit and i mean heavy braking and long lean angles etc, you notice the difference. some times on the side wall grip, sometimes on the fat part. Its each to their own , most modern day rubber is "ok".

if your mainly doing tracks or fast roads. you want a tyre that will warm up quick-ish. the down side to these tyres is that they wear quick and dont give as much grip in the wet.

best tyres i ever had ,were the dunlop qualifier RRs the new equivalent , thinks its the GP ? , is not as highly rated .

the tyres you mention ,the rennsports, were replaced in 2008 by the racetec versions, id give these a try as you wont notice too much difference in the handling of the bike . they are decent fast road and track tyres with ample grip in the wet
