I'm a bit concerned about it myself as I'm in your position (working my 4 weeks notice) but thats all the info I can get off him. He doesn't know anyone personally working at Solihull - it's just what he has heard. When I went for my manual assessments there was a guy on the tests with me already working at Solihull for another agency who was doing the tests to get taken on with Manpower. It seemed a bit odd to me at the time (he told me he had been there for 3 years with this agency) but if it's better working for Manpower it makes sense now. I'm just looking at it as a way of getting my foot in the door and taking it from there.

Tomo870 - have you heard of any practices like this going on with Manpower workers at Halewood?

3 years with an agency is odd, after 12 months you have to be taken on by the company themselves, I think that is law, again I am much like you and wanting to get my foot in the door, after 12 weeks with the agency according to the new rights which came in last year you are legally able to apply for jobs that may be advertised with the company(in this case jag land rover), but not sure if its as easy as that!! Anyway if you do here anything please post up, otherwise good luck when you start :)

Hi , I am just wondering, How long did you have to wait before finding out if you passed your manual assessment and was invited for an interview? I have done my online assessment and the manual assessment two days ago and havent heard from them yet. other people i know that did the manual assessment got an email the next day if they didnt make it. Between, i finished my first test and the second with a lot of time to spare while waiting for the others to finish. So not hearing from them might be positive. what do you think?

I was called about a week later for the final interview stage, so if it's only been a couple of days wait for a week, then if you have not heard anything give them a call, I found them a bit slow to respond, but I guess with all the people applying it must be manic for them! After my final interview I had to wait just over 4 weeks before being offered a position, hope this helps?

    Thanks

Well you just need to be yourself and relax when you are there, you cant prep for it really as they will ask you some set questions based on previous situations with your work or private life, just be honest and answer as best you can and you will be fine, its not that bad at all, and remember you have already done well to get this far!!!
