Switzerland .. is a prime example of gun ownership more than 50% HAVE A GUN BECAUSE OF THEIR VERSION OF CONSCRIPTION.. they are the lowest victims of gun crime in Europe
The army is not the only entity to have a tradition with guns however. About 600,000 Swiss - many of them children - belong to shooting clubs.

On the second weekend in September each year, about 4,000 Zurich girls and boys, aged 12 to 16, take part in Knabenschiessen, a rifle marksmanship contest. The winner is honoured with the title King of the Marksmen.

 

yes if you had permission to hunt on an estate with a rifle yes you could own a rifle . for that purpose.
if you were a member of a gun club you could own a gun suitable for use at that club
until Hungerford if you were a member of a practical rifle or practical pistol club you could own anything bar a MACHINE GUN (PART 5 FIREARMS)

not really .... their stat includes one terrorist attack and as far as i am aware these are un recorded in uk stats ..... the troubles in N I for instance are excluded
and 6.2 guns per 100,000 people in uk and 45.7 in switzerland so given 8 times more guns in the population the stats look different again ..... 41 gun deaths in England only 57 in switzerland with 8 times more guns ????? so that stat compared to the number of guns in the populations doesnt match does it ?

 

Do the Swiss generally hang around on street corners with their hands down their tracksuits because they like to pretend that they have been in prison? Unfortunately we have a big group of people in this country I wouldn't trust with shoe laces let alone own guns. One minute your walking your kid to school the next your holding his limp hand cause some fucktard thought it was great to show off. The reality is stats don't kill guns do. Guns I fucking love them shot lots of different one in my military time but christ on a bike can you imagine them in the hands of some of the great British public !!!

The kind of "yoofs" dat u is dissing can already get their hands on any weapon they want for a price.
If weapons were re-legalised they would have to have a police check, prove why they need a gun, be a member of a gun club AND have a fair chunk of cash to buy one.
They would also need a strong box or safe to store it and be subject to regular inspections from the firearms team.
Even getting in a gun club isn't as easy as just paying up. They have their own rules and regs. The one I was in asked YOU to join, if one member objected to you for any reason you didn't get asked.

 

And why the fook do the swiss need guns? Have you seen their bloody knives?!!!

 

Well have you ever tried stabbing someone with a wine cork screw? The amount of effort required is insane! Victim and perpetrator both need the patience of a saint to carry out the attack.

 

The swiss are gun mad! Have you seen the state of their cheese?? They shoot everything!

 

I still don't understand what more people want, a few people have already talked about shooting clubs, shotguns ect.
Is this really not enough?
I believe this country has it spot on with regards to weapons. I'm happy that I live in a place where people don't have all sorts in their house.
