You do come across as being thick sometimes, maybe that's not the opinion you are looking for but im being honest with you.. all your opinions are based on a stubborn 'this is how I see it in my head' attitude. You never take heed on a opposite view/suggestion that you may be wrong and no one likes to be told they are wrong.

Also, I think you should take a step back on threatening people 'at the next meet' As I would quite happily bang both the culprits heads together if a fight broke out at a NWB meet. I couldn't care how big someone is.

If you are going to carry that agressive attitude around, I suggest YOU don't turn up to meets as YOU seem to be instigating the need for violence.

Disagreements are going to happen, if you resort to violence due to a discussion then it just shows a complete lack of respect for other members.

I am not personally going to lock this topic as it shows a greater insight to the minds of members and how we treat one another.

No they are based on years of personal and profesional experience and I never mentioned violence at all, I merely suggested he not approach me at the next meet. Nothing to do with the discussion more to do with the patronising element of his previous post.

So I would say that YOU seem to have made a pre judgement based on personal experience....

I did take heed but chose to disagree with his view. Same as he did with me, so why does that make ME wrong. We are two people quite obviously from different backgrounds with differents views on society from different levels.

I admit my view is from the bottom up as I lived in poverty stricken areas during the late 80's and early 90's and went to one of the worst public schools in the north west. I was also made homeless at 16 and continued to see the attitudes of my generation change towards myself and those around me. At 17 I was taken in by the Merseyside Accomodation Project and housed in a multi student property in Anfield. At 19 I then moved to Tuebrook where my car and house were broken into no less than 7 times, my neighbours were drug addicts and the guy over the road actually tried to sell me my own laptop that had been stolen from my car the week before. I then lost my girlfriend in a car accident to a drunk and drug filled male driving his car at triple the speed limit after flying past a police car and failing to stop.

My point is no matter how bad society has been to me I have always feared the police and prosecution by the police and understood their job, which in turn gave me a respect for them; a fear instilled in me by my parents and grandparents (the old if you're naughty I'll tell the police man and he'll take you away) instead of f*ck the matrix.

I hated Danny 6 weeks ago, I held practically the same view as you, so I hold no bias whatsoever.
To be honest, I think you probably think he comes across that way because of his appearance, which is not taking heed on the opposite view or adopting an open mind. If you actually bothered to speak to him, he is a very intelligent person.

And as for being stubborn, he's really not, I'm a very stubborn person and he has showed me he's a very forgiving, compassionate person, otherwise we wouldn't be talking today.

And as for resorting to violence, you're the one who's just suggested that he was insinuating violence, which imo is sh*t stirring.

You know, I've watched this topic for the past couple of days and I'm surprised how it's still going in the same direction. When is it going to stop?

Everyone has different views and more often than not, someone will experience things differently to others. Topics on forums, like this one, are usually great to read. However, I feel this one is edging towards being a little heated and personal.

Can I suggest maybe keeping the discussions on the topic, civil and relevant as it appears it's now focused on members. If it continues, then I have no problem with locking this thread.

This discussion has most definitely run its course. Apologies to Paul for letting it get a little too heated.

Just to set the record straight: You apparently have a very clear picture in your head as to my personal background. Yet you don't actually know me at all well, and I expect that you're some way off the mark.

But I'm not going to talk about it. For two reasons, really: First, it's nobody elses business. But most importantly, it's completely irrelevant to this discussion. It's ad hominem circumstantial.

    firstly can i say

verba ita sunt intelligenda ut res magis valeat quam pereat

and secondly i to have been reading this thread with interest as well over the last few days. the debate going on is at times getting slightly ott but no more that you get in a pub on a sat night.i am glad that it has continued as it does reflect two different views on the world which as a knuckle headed baker i wouldnt normally see. i just wish that you 2 can now agree to dissagree and draw a line under the things that have been said.

i personally think we should have a soapbox thread, i think it enriches peoples to read a good debate between two obviously intelligent people (who says bikers are hairy arsed idiots lol)

    just my opinion

It's all English, I promise. Except for the bits that aren't.

But don't worry Lee. That's my problem, not yours. You'd be in the majority.

    Still, could be worse:
