did they give you a ticket or just a "talking to"?

because their super police car would have an automatic choke and they wouldnt know owt about anything "manual"

maybe he was pissed off cos he had missed out on all the donuts or because he's only got a small penis and maybe his crystal ball had shown you revving your bike to high heavon, did you not know that they all have one so therefore you must have been in the wrong.

Lodge a complaint, be sure to put it in writing.
I've been led to believe the police have to investigate every complaint, wouldn't that be an awful waste of their time?

That's the problem with us in this country, we just don't bother.
You know when the incident occured, the location and time so put it in writing so they can educate the idiots who pulled you.

I've written loads of letters of complaint, even if my local KFC serves me rubbish. I don't expect any freebies but it can help them brush up on their customer service.

If you had to ride with your choke on then your engine was too cold and you where damaging your bike by riding.

And as much as the officer may have been wrong in your eyes his job is to investigate, deter and prevent crime. Taking an attitude with him could have bitten you in the ass if he gave you a section 59 for exsessive noise. Two of them and your bike goes BYE BYE. Leave the argueing for the courts, Yes sir No sir is the best way to deal with any road side enquiry.

Personally, I think a low-yield nuclear airburst, delivered from high-altitude (or orbit) is, in fact, the best way of dealing with a police roadside enquiry.

    :shades:

But then some people HAVE accused me of being a tad disproportionate. Meh.

No. The bike will be perfectly fine riding whilst the choke is still in use. They're designed to do that. Choke on, fire it up, set off, take it easy, warm the engine with choke engaged, disengage choke after 2-3 minutes once it's nicely warmed up. Plenty of time to be sat at lights (making a racket). And no risk of harm to the engine. Unless you thrash it right from cold, and even then, depending on the bike, unlikely to do any damage.

I just cant see what he had to investigate, with anpr the tool knew it the bike was legal before he pulled him, and as for calling him SIR................

Id say pretty fare, I would never call it disproportionate

before i passed my car test i used to wait on the main road nr my house for a lift in to work every morning about 3:15am

and every morning for about a month the same copper (different passenger)used to pull up along side of me and go through the same routine

    pc "what you doing"
me "erm waiting for a lift officer"
    pc "where do you work"
    me "bakery in bolton"
    pc "where"
me "thynne st nr the train station"
    pc "are you sure"
me "erm yep been working there for about 5 years dont think they have moved with out telling me"
pc "no need to be smart son i have to check on suspisious looking people"
me "fair play officer but how many burglers do you know go out dressed in bakery whites"
pc "not going to tell you again about that smart mouth son"
me "sorry officer but this is now the 4th time in 2 weeks you have asked me the same questions in the same place at the same time its bordering on hassasment"
pc "(starts to go red infront of his noob)well just make sure you go streight there or ill do you"
    me "ok officer no problem"

it really was funnier at the time but what im getting at is if you havent done anything wrong or unlawful then just play the game, make sure you get a few digs in and dont be a smart arse at the end of the day they are just people as well and most are just boared coz there is no bank robbery in progress so they have to be content pulling people for ridicious things

i had one years ago on a gp125 suzi (a quick one lol)
had a home made expanny on and was on the way back from a run to wales at night with birdie on the back...
i turned off the m62 roundabout in winwick and a plod van was sat off at the top, an older plod with a younger one who he was grooming for gay sex.

halfway down the m56 at full whack, the baffle had blown out and it was a bit noisy like, but not excessive imo...
anyway, plod pulls me over, swaggers over with his noob in tow, explains to the young un that 'this bike obviously has a defective silencer, this is how we check' and then proceeded to stuff his fingers down the glowing exhaust lol...

it sizzled like throwing bacon in a pan lol and he squealed like a piggy...
i still had my lid on and was dying to laugh... thing is, he was propper pissed off and insisted i took my lid off.
me being young & cocky at the time i told him to fk off which was maybe a bad move.... he then started to insult my gf calling her a biker slag, obviously trying to get me to kick off.
she replied yes i am a slag... im a dirty horny slut and i love filthy rough sex etc, much to his annoyance.

they tried to do me for defective silencer and insulting an officer but both charges were dropped before the court date.
same as ever, some plod are spot on, but some are total wankers. [IMG]

Haha don't know why they bother half of the time, surely it'd just become tedius after a while of pulling people and getting nowhere? Oh and making an arse of themselves haha

I dont see why everybody assumes ANPR is the answer to everything. All that does is uses your reg to relay info to the bobby. If your bike was stolen it will still show up as legal until you report it stolen. If someone clones your plate their bike will show as legal.. Not lookin so good now is it.

If you have your bike MOT'd and then change the lights or exhaust for one that isnt road legal that doesnt mean your ok cos ya bikes got a MOT. it means your ok till ya get caught. so he has seen a bike at lights revving loudly and has pulled the rider to find out why. if someone had stolen your bike and the copper seen them doin that but did nothin you lot would be the first to jump down their throats.

Many of you have a pop at coppers for makin mistakes when they are working. I wonder how many of you do your job that well with such exception that no one has ever made a complaint or found fault with you. I can assure you all. None of you are that infallable.

The officer pulled Rob, causing no harm, to perform a roadside check and have a chat. In My oppinion Rob's attitude could have bought him a section 59.
