No she won't be for sale just ridden on the odd nice day we get in the summer. I wouldn't sell because I'd never get back what I've paid in, plus I'm a big fan of the cafe scene, just wish I could of had a Norton or Triumph Again the aim is to have something that no one else has got that's individual to me, she'll be right when I've finished, it looks worse than what it is atm, once this engine is done it should all start coming together nicely!
Quite like the whole 'Cafe Racer' thing that seems to have sprung up again in recent years - makes a nice change from yet another 'Streetfighter' project which in many cases is just a poorly repaired ex-crashed sports bike who's owner can't afford the new plastics. This looks nicely done..... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=R1BwHyoqiLc
If all goes well ill be buying a resto project hopefully a Gs500e and cafe racer is the route il be taking hopefully along these lines won't be all stainless looking like that but a black or British racing green I know it's a sin on a jap bike but I think it would look awesome on a cafe racer
Just won these 32mm Amal carbs on e blag, think these should work nicely once set up proper with the other engine mods! Had a look at the cv carbs they're knackered and some searching around on the net a lot of owners have problems with them when they start doing other engine mods. Not really done owt else this week, still waiting on the oil filter removal tool I've ordered so I can split the cases to get them off to Carl for blasting.
Rotor puller and oil filter tool arrived today and bought myself a workbench, couldn't be doing with the black and decker workmate anymore. Had to put it up 1st though, £70 from Argos it's ok like but the top is a bit poor, I'll swap this for some work top. Ok rotor off, looks like someone has been in before and left some screws loose lol Another angle, screws aren't even finger tight!! It's scored the case Oil pump is broken, I'll get another Lots of metal and shit on the pump gauze Lower case and bearing surfaces look good, probably the best part of the engine tbh lol Given up on getting the piston out for tonight cba
We have women in every port, it's the army that use any port in a storm and back scuttle each other :lol:h34r: Sent using the force
Allelujah finally got the piston out!! It's a bit of a mess like, nothing salvageable the rings had welded into the bore The left hand didn't fare too bad, just a broken ring Seems to be a bit of scoring on both gudgeon pins but not bothered there's new ones with the pistons I've got to replace these. View of the barrel Kaput!!! Crank and bearings look ok A little bit of stripping to do then off for blasting!!
