Not been on here for a bit, been on with a little project. Building a bit of a special, so far it's a cagiva mito frame, RSV mille front end (resprung etc of course), RS250 rear wheel, Honda RS250 GP bike Wilbers shock. There are a few 350YPVS hybrids knocking about but I'm going a step further and stroking and big boring it, +7mm stroke and 68mm bore all developed in the states on banshee quads. This takes it to 443. I've not started the engine building yet but the bike is almost ready to build as a roller then I'll start ordering engine bits. I'm going for around 100hp & 115kg, give or take a bit, it'll still be mental, theres a 421 knocking around in a TZ chassis making 98 at the wheel with similar spec to what I'm after. The mito frame is very good but the suspension was shit hence the re engineering on the front and rear ends etc. Some pics I've taken so far, it has taken a lot of engineering to make the rear wheel fit the swinger and the front end fit. The next step is to get the engine mounts fitted, then I'll assemble it. If anyones interested I'll keep this updated..
Not much new to show yous at the moment, I've cut the bottom lugs off the front frame mounts and re shaped them. The bits that are cut off are to be welded in the V. Can't mock the cases up for the mounts to be welded yet as I've not got my swingarm back from powdercoating. Will do this week but until then I'm a bit stuck. I need it all to bolt up as a jig for the plates to be welded otherwise risk getting alignment wrong. Also got some rearset mounts to adapt the harris rearsets to the mito frame and new lock stops being made at the mo. All the mounting plates are CNC waterjet cut, bolts will all be allen cap/button heads, just using them bolts in the pic for temporary purposes.
Got my swingarm back powdercoated dark anthracite. Looks better in the metal to be honest. Now I can crack on with mounts this weekend.
Frame in that is almost identical to mine, would love to see this finished some serious thought going into things. Q:what the mental looking beast of a car in the background? Looks like a big V8 engine in the back of it
The ultimas my dads hobby, I did build this when I was 19 but the ultimas a bit outta my price bracket Tbh I'm more into bikes now hence this build.
Slightly off topic, I do apologise. Do you know Dave, the auto electrician? I believe he assisted with the electrics on one of your or your dad's car builds? So he was telling me anyway .
Has a fireblade and works for merc? He's been doing bits on it yeah. We call him the electrical wizard.
