Did some messing last night, figured out the plumbing. Not much room at all but managed to get an inline rad cap in and keep it all relatively simple. Then just used a HRC catch tank, not a fan of loads of cable ties but seemed the obvious way to fix it.. Need to get a round rad cap, as you can see it's a bit tight
Also threw the heel guards on and HRC brake hose reservoir thingy as I don't really have anywhere to mount a normal reservoir. Always thought these were a bit tacky on normal road bikes but it's ideal for this.
Another thing I bought the other week is a genuine ally TZ250 subframe which fits my seat perfect... Doesn't fit the bike mind you - so that's next on the list. It's so light I thought the box was empty when it came!! The ballache of this next step is I really need to be there when it's modified as the positioning of the seat in relation to the pipes in particular will make or break the look of the bike.
Once that's done the cases and cylinder is going to mick abbey for some port work.

    Very nice mate :)

I was oggling Gavin's (jap4performance) bike yesterday, NSR 350cc, fully engine pumped like yours but had a blown piston- lovely hole the size of a 2p.

Be careful how high you tune it unless your barrels are re-bore able :)

Meh shit happens! Especially in the wonderful world of 2 strokes. It's getting a mild tune and a sensible rev limit.

Productive day, tz250 subframe is almost fitted. Took some measurements and drawings to get stuff done over the week to finish it off. Then I can FINALLY pull the motor out for porting and build the fucker!!

There was no way to fit the seat to a mito subframe and obviously a TZ250 subframe doesn't just fit a mito so I decided the best thing would be to essentially design my own fitting kit... So a 5KE TZ250 subframe now just bolts straight up and the advantage of that is the subframe is well hidden where the mito one would've been largely visible. That and it weighs naff all.
May not seem like a big step but this now means the motor can come out and be built. I didn't wanna dismantle it all without sorting this as it's impossible to know where the seat wants to be without using the pipes for reference.
Hopefully pick up the reasonably quick progress I made at the start of the project now. Feels like I'm on the home stretch a bit but still plenty to do.

Still watching this thread with envy... Fair play to you keeping it going, albeit at a reduced rate, whilst you're going through sorting a house etc. It definitely needs to be ready for the summer now :)

Thanks, it's hard work with my money being spoken for on the house of late and the bike still being in parents garage but I'll be bringing it home hopefully this week :) Then I'll be able to do bits as and when, after work etc. even the odd hour here and there makes a big difference when you add it all up.
