I dont do shiney at all I am afraid! Everything is going to be anodised either black, olive brown (looks like magnesium) or hard anodised grey. It will suit the colours I have decided on for the bike. I will look at making the yokes this weekend and making it a rolling chasis.
Well today I pulled this out of my machine: I have decided to use the zxr wheels for the time being and this allows me to the flaoint outer disc I hade made originally for the aprilia wheels.
Yesterday I made the chain adjusters for the swinging arm. I had decided to change the design slightly so that they are adjusted from the back of the swinging arm rather than the bolt in front of the adjusters. I had already made a drill jig to get the alignment right and then drilled and tapped the swinging arm before it went for powder coating. I scrapped one of the adjusters on the last set up by putting the wrong figure in the control and had to remake it, I wasnt impressed. Normally I make a couple of everything in case that happens, but not this time and it cost me a few extra hours of set ups. I now need to modify the rear wheel spindle so that it fits flush inside the adjusters and make the rear brake caliper carrier then the back end is pretty much done.
I sent some parts for anodising in Radcliffe and pick them up next week, looking forward to putting some bits on the bike! Today I started on the rearsets:
I have now started on the yokes for the Marzocchi forks. I have removed the stem from the original yokes and just need to make a few mods to it and also put the slots in the yokes and then they are off for anodising. I also fitted a few other parts I have made and had anodised:
