No I get where your coming from this forum has changed a lot over the last year or so but at the end of the day if people report stuff the mods need to sort it. If it wasn't reported there would be no issue.

I thought the guy was a cunt. Some things a tad funny but the gay jokes where a step to far IMO.

I can take the piss as much as anyone else by I would only do it with people I know and that understand my humour. A lot of people on here will hate my sarcastic attitude so I just don't address there comments. Easy.

It was discrimination. Simple as. Personally I wouldn't have banned him but like I said I thought those gay "jokes" we're crossing a line.

As for the jokes we all make they are clearly jokes and intended that way.

Most of all Moz don't forget people view on things will differ greatly from person to person so what you and I find funny could be massively offence to someone else. Whoever made the decision to ban him clearly didn't find it amusing. It was there choice to deal with the complaint in that way.

Thing is though, by his own admission, the context and intention was not to be funny - it was to insult.

I'm all for banter, and posts I've seen from you Mozz are clearly banter. I know everyone's sense of humour will differ. I'm not stupid. But there's humour and there's an intention to be insulting - that's the difference.

 

Mozz, you would love the other site i spend most of my time on.......Totally un-moderated and completely no holds barred. Cunts and liars get found out pretty quickly and dealt with in a ruthless fashion. Sometimes they come back on with a different name and what not but they get sussed sharpish and bullied to death

Iv'e been on there 10 years and i have never seen a post deleted or a member banned or even ticked off. We just sort the wheat from the chaff ourselves......I love it :laugh:

 

I don't know anything about this but I imagine that on a well managed forum like NWB with quite a few staff members ALL the staff members are consulted before reaching the decision to ban a member? It can't just be one person's decision? Therefore, a number of staff were probably involved?

As for NWB 'changing' I don't think it has? There have been lots of new members and from a wider area, which is all positive as far as I'm concerned, but the site has always been about meeting other people who are into bikes for rides, socialising, banter, piss-taking, whatever. You want to find a partner for life and have NWB babies? Fine. You want to make new friends? Fine. You want advice or for someone to fix your bike? Fine. You want support cos you're having a rough time at the moment? Also fine.

You want to be abusive, personal, argumentative, mysoginist, insult minorities or people's background or culture?? NOT FINE

 

I liked his humour,after reading through the posts I don't get the ban,obviously we don't all see it that way and as already said I,ve seen worse things posted on here

Iv seen much worse.......and thats saying somthing coz i dont cringe easily, for example, in the post 101scouse things......well a scouser posted the original post(as a joke) a scouser responded(as a joke) another scouser said it was written by wools........im taking it as he ment people not from liverpool........like me........all as a joke........iv got tons of scouse friends doesnt stop me calling them names nor them me......infact its expected!

 

I know I've only been on here just over two years but I have noticed and seen the forum change over that time, I was talking to goody about this on Friday night

 

I have too to be fair but I think it was the consistency of the abuse that got people down, hence the apparent reports

 

And i had my zzr written off by a woman on roundabout in st helens and now hate wools also . By the way the original woolybacks were liverpool dockers who used wool to carry things on their backs .
