you can pick up a good clean low mileage original one for around £5k, i was looking for an RG500 last year, struggled to find anything decent for under £10k!!!!

You won't be buying the NR 750 oval piston bike then sue at fast line superbikes in Preston ? It's a cool £100,000. That's not a typo ! It is one hundred thousand pounds it's on display in the window , there are two there !

i used to have a wall poster of the nr750 - a thing of beauty and a masterpiece of performance engineering indeed.

Huh ! I'd be worried if it holed a piston ! Where would I get an oval replacement ? Can you imagine asking demon tweaks ?

There's more cash going into your house than an RBS ATM ! Even chas tops up the cash flow now ! ££££££££ , x

You should go and see this one mart. It's brand new ! No reg on it. Zero miles ! It's on new lane Preston , just up from where hein gerike was , they are importers ! Couple of lc 350s in there rg 500. In fact there was a castrol sp2 as well, but could have been sold !

I get shivers every time i see a VJ22 and it doesn't bring back happy memories. Both of mine tried to have me off, one was a dropped PV (normal) second was a cold seize. Had a 23 after that - 100% better bike and engine.
However after owning pretty well most 250 strokers, i still think this takes some beating. granted it's certainly not the fastest, but in terms of handling, looks and actually good to ride may i present the MC28 SP

the other 250's were more reliable easier to use daily but what rgv gave you when it worked well was like nothing ever before seen unless it was on the track. the 1st real gp bike on the road

@Sue - yes the RVF is the later RT model, however i prefer the RR model i built from left over bits oddly enough. quicker and sharper to ride.

@johnc21turbo - that was a classic race and one that will go down in history. Those 22's were rumoured to be making just shy of 80bhp then in full kit spec. quite impressive.

    i had the 250 & 500 triple - the original fastasfuki :D
the 250 was a 1975 N reg - loved it to bits (literally lol)
had the 250 race tuned by terry shepperd and it was fkin awesome lol, did about 12mpg lol, thank fk petrol was about 60p a gallon at the time for 4 star (remember that?!)
i do remember they handled like sh*t though and the brakes were non existant - iirc they had a single disc up front and drum on the rear :S
(and wire wheels! well, the 250 did anyway i think)

mate had the 250 triple with a 3-1 micron can.
ran like a bag of sh*t but omfg the sound was amazing! [IMG]
