    Hi all, persuaded my dad to go with the idea, so now the hard bit;

Q: who knows of any heavy bikes running USD forks and a 18/19" front wheel? Or forks that are the same diameter top to bottom so the bottom yoke can be moved up slightly :)

Will look ace when it's finished it's just the last hurdle

Bike is to be as follows; colour [IMG]

And Styled like (minus the single seat); [IMG]

Hayabusa or B-King are pretty heavy I think. Then the big 1400 Kawasaki's.

The thing people have warned me about is changing the rake angles. Can put pressure where it isn't good and do some serious damage (or just mean new steering bearings every 200 miles).

    Has it been done before?

This has reminded me that you wanted it photo shopped too... Will do it tomorrow ;)

Yea I've seen this done on a repsol goldwing however that was a newer model. I should think you'll be able to fine on that fits or at least one that can easily be modded.

Glad to hear someone is fixing a goldwing coz they are fuck ugly as standard!

hardest bit of the conversion will be finding the right length of forks, the rest is easy peasy lemon squeezy;)

was possibly my Dad, he was the lancashire looney for a while, stripped K" goldwing 1000, with an american police siren on it, wearing police leathers and loud as hell inverted dunstall mega exhausts, smoking a cig through a hole he drilled in his helmet. Albeit 30 years ago

    Is that 77 gl1000?

My mate bought one last year, tidy but very heavy bike.

It's a 79 gl1000. I honestly don't think they're heavy until you try to put it on centre stand- hernia inducing haha.

They handle really well and ride so smooth. Would have one myself but my dads doesn't seem too good on fuel.

Trying to kick start it is a twat, if you let it travel to the top it kinda locks in place and nearly breaks your foot.

Seen a kick start one in the Honda shop-or skirk, thought it'd be an ankle breaker straight away. Thankfully the 79' has electronic ignition :)

Still pulls well to be honest, for a bike that weighs as much as a small car that could probably tow one too haha.

My bikes pretty modern and even that bit me, moving her about in the garage to stop the misses moaning and dropped the bike over onto it's side stand but forgot to move my bare foot, was a suspected metatarsal fk up but ended up just badly bruised thank god! Didn't half hurt, I need a dike, I mean trike haha
