    Lol.
Depends on the tyre and what bike its fitted to.
Sportmax is a group of tyres. which exact one is it?
    D211, sportsmart, roadsmart, etc etc.
You can look up the bike and recommended pressures online.
My sd is recommended at 34 front and rear.
You will usually find most jap bikes state 36/42. I always go a bit less on the cbr depending on feel.
Usually 32-34 front and 36 to 38 rear.
As a base though start at reccomended settings.

36 , 42 will probably be the tyre manufactureres recommendation... They say this to cover themselves for all expected riding conditions... i.e., fully loaded with pillion and luggage.. imagine the difference in weight, and how much they tyre deflects, and makes a greater contact patch.

But if you are on your own you dont really need all that pressure... how much is up to you... If you go really low you could compromise the handling, and the tyre will get really hot from deflecting so much, and eventuallydestroy itself. Some bike manufactures have caught on and recommend specific pressures for their bikes at lower than the tyre manufacturers recommend...I'm pretty sure my Daytona is 34, 36 on the road... and even less on track

was just having a chat with chicken strips as to what tyre pressure he was running in scotland

if you dont run the correct pressure the tyre will square off quickly its normal at 36 42 taken on a cold tyre dont ride 50 miles then check them !!

google the dunlop tyre doctor tell him what you have and what bike he will tell you the correct pressure you cant just guess and go between 34 and 42 for example get it done properly and your bike will handle correct and the tyre will wear correct
