Mate was allowed on Donnington with a flip front helmet
And like you said the crash helmets werent checked for Gold stickers when I did my trackday. The leathers werent either, okay they were 1 peice, but people with 2 piece on werent being checked for zip

IMO best to be safe than sorry though
Dont adher to any of the rules and they "could" refuse you entry to the track

Whether they own the track or not, it is their responsibility if you wrap yourself round a tyre wall. For all we know their insurance may insist on the sticker, and then they are in the shit if some one kills themselves when not wearing one with the sticker.

Maybe ACU proves nowt, heard it before, but if the organisers say you have to ride round with cat ears and a tail on your helmet then you dont have a leg to stand on when you turn up with a mohecan and get shown the door. :)

I've never had my lid inspected - as long as it's road legal and looks like a proper helmet (i.e not one off your bmx) you should be fine.

Good one piece suit (the best you can afford - kangaroo is best apparently) - decent boots, well padded gloves, helmet, and back protector! Spend as much as you can on them all and you'll look and feel the part and at the same time, when the time comes that you thow the bike down the road, you'll be as safe as you can be! Thew my bike on my 2nd track day and although I hurt my wrist a bit and scratched my bike up, I actually quite enjoyed it as an experience... that being said, I don't want to do it again! :)

The Facto amundo is the following:

The following TDO state on their web sites:

    - Focussed Events "A helmet that meets BSI 6658 type A and the ACU gold stamp"

    - No Limits "An ACU (gold sticker) safety helmet which must be properly fastened"

    - MSV "all crash helmets worn by riders must comply with current ACU/FIM standards. Helmets must be worn and securely fastened at all times."

    - Hottrax only ask for a Good Quality Helmet

So three out the four main TDOs specifically state that a Gold Stamp is required wether they check it or not. Si844 asked the question and the above are the facts. I will allow you to appologise by buying me a brew next time we meet probably at Oulton, Angelsy or Cadwell.   :D :joker:

I'm sure one of the tdo's state that any video captured can only be used if a fee of 25k is paid - I don't think everything in the contract it written in stone, or is adhered to strickly. They told us to fill out forms for our cameras on Saturday, but when I asked where, the bloke said 'No idea pal'. Needless to say I went out with the camera and they said nothing.

Very true. The helmet thing is just arse covering by the TDO IMHO. TDO need to be seen to have our safety at heart when in reality they dont give a shove.
