Yes the plane is faster and for work in your case is a no brainer. Last time I went to Spain couple of years back I went on the ferry, could have flown. Think it's just me being a sad bastard and liking ships and boats! Also like to get wasted on the boats and try to find my way back to my cabin, the Amsterdam boat is good for that.
amsterdam boat ? ive been on the rotterdam and zeebrugge boats quite a few times , lots of pisspots on there ..However it changed this year that boat leaves hull at 9pm and docks at 8am so if you have been on the piss all night, which all the bike lads do, as you know ...well your over the limit big time at 8am the next day...and as soon as you leave the boat now the dutch cops are waiting at the bottom of the gang plank !!!! in fairness to them ...they dont prosecute you , but they dont let you ride either...so your sat on the dockside till 2pm ...which is no good when you have to be at assen for the 3pm race !!! GRRRRR GRRRR
yes because on a cruise ship you have amazing technology ...i though the ferry was going to be a flatbed antique thing and it wasn't far off ..lol....but i did enjoy it..
Yep, I experience the quoted this summer. Blow in the machine and got waved on by as did all in hour group. The limit over there is lower than over here too I am led to understand.
yes the limit is 0.05..where as in the uk its 0.08 ie here you can go 80 milligrams of alcohol in 100 millilitres of blood ...where as in many european countries its only 50 milligrams of alcohol
Amsterdam boat goes from South Shields. Usually go as a foot passenger so I can drink as much as I like, however when I used it this year on the bike I stayed the first night in Amsterdam. It's a better boat than the P&O tub out of Hull. Well aware of the Dutch police stopping people and quite rightly so. With me it's either a biking holiday or a boozing holiday, one or the other but never tea total.
hahahaha, if you want the better places to go in Amsterdam let me know, although I've no doubt you know already.
back to topic ...some good footage of the boat being lifted on a time lapsed video on BBC i player llooks an engineering feat
Um technology? Leverage, big crane secured to seabed, and some floatation. Not really high technology just physics and trigonometry. They didn't even know if it would fall apart as they righted it, not a very technical assessment.
its already cost 50% more than the original build just to get it upright. And that isnt the end of the bill. expected to rise much more. Whats staggering is one person fucking about has cost the company a billion euros and counting!
