So when you tried to jump it, was the engine turning over as quick as usual? Going back to the battery, try charging it off the bike. If there is a short on the bike's wiring, this will prevent it from charging.
Battery is goosed had it off the bike on charge still no joy. Rectifier has failed the diode tests and also burnt its neutral wire, so guessing it got quite warm. Ordered new bits but just wondered if this could cause damage further up the bike? Also does anyone know if the neutral from the rectifier goes anywhere apart from the battery, as I was going to put a new wire in.
New battery and rectifier fitted now. There is no spark from either plug. There is 12V either side of the coil. My diagnostics is heading to the signal generator. Was looking on ebay for a replacement for a proper test but can't find any for the curvy Without a peak voltage adapter on my multi meter anyone got any ideas on tests?
For those that are following or have a similar problem. I took the courage from my research and forked out on an igniter box and all is running sweet now. So £160 damage on what I think was just a bad earth from the regulator
