OK some twats tried stealing my lad's bike, they've snapped the steering lock and damaged the ignition so the key won't turn. Its in my bike shed now waiting for me, anyone with experience got any tips for where to start? Cheers Stueo
That's shit that stu is your bike fine or did it happen at his work? A new ignition is an easy fix (if you can get one second hand) but will req 2 keys one for petrol tank seat lock and one for ignition
He left it at the front of his house, just steering lock for security :bang: AA brought it to mine for him.
May need a center punch to get ignition bolts out as they normally use snap bolts to secure ignition Sent from my C6903 using Tapatalk
Aww crap that stu he'll probs have to cope with 2 keys and a new ignition Fairly easy to replace few wires and the bolts out like above
Agree with Smudger. The lock will like be attached to the under side of the top yoke with rivets or snap bolts. My Suzuki VX800's were like that.
The sv650 had security torx bit size 8 to hold the ignition barrel. I've done a full lock set change on mine before so if you need any help ill sort it. A new unit with fuel cap and seat lock can easily be got for £60 Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Just bought this http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/331085959042?_trksid=p2055119.m1438.l2649&ssPageName=STRK:MEBIDX:IT Looks an easier job with the top yoke?
Prob easier changing it with the tree Dint forget to take the locking clips off top of suspension before trying to pull clip ons off Sent from my C6903 using Tapatalk
Ahhh ok curvy. Ignore me then, checking your part will fit. It's an easy 15min job just be careful unplugging the old ignition as the wires arnt very long. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
