The weather forecast is looking pretty horrid at the moment. Not so bad around these parts (cloud and showers), but up in Penrith it looks to be a washout. Hope things change, but if not, it's not much fun riding 200+ miles just to get soaked and ponce around on slippery roads.

Going to see how the forecast develops tomorrow evening when we get a more detailed breakdown of Sunday's forecast, and take it from there. If it's just light showers then we'll go ahead with the trip as planned for whoever still fancies it, but if it's forecast for heavy rain throughout the day then we'll have to put this trip on hold for later in the year. I'll post tomorrow evening so as to give everyone notice before the morning. Don't want anyone making a wasted journey up to Preston if we know it's 90% likely to be very wet and miserable up in the Lakes.

Have checked MET office and BBC and it's not looking so bad now. May get caught in a couple of light showers but it's looking dry most of the day where we're going. If the forecast stays that way this evening, it's a go...

I've just come up to Lancaster, it was soaked in Chorley but north of there fine and bright, 'spitting' now and then but no big deal. Off we go!

Forecast looks pretty much dry all day with the chance of catching a minor shower. So this is definitely going ahead. See everyone who's coming at the Tickled Trout at 10.

VERY sorry Alex, I can't make it.
I am chief spannerman for my son, he is racing at Bangor-on-Dee tomorrow. Very jealous of everyone who is going, it looks like a brilliant day. Take it easy guys and keep the shiny side up.
