Anyway, Time to carry this post on with some pictures.

I've not been able to pull the bike out of it's little lair to take some pictures until today, as my appendix suddenly decided it didn't want to stay in me, and then I had to stay in bloody hospital all week ! (I wouldn't of minded, but my room was right above where the bikes park and all I could hear all day was bikes coming and going :( )

The pictures below are the paintwork on the bike at the moment, they've not even bothered to take the 'Smartwater' sticker off to paint it. Proper shoddy job !

After having the fairings off today to have a look at the bad wiring job, I found one had been repaired. It looks to be done well & is a good repair, there is another crack though so I will be repairing that myself.

If anyone on here fancies giving me a quote for spraying them (I can get hold of the paint I think, + Could do most of the prep work) it'd be much appreciated !

Yep, thought it would. I'm hoping the paint underneath isn't too bad.

Might have to take you up on that offer one day ! I have a compressor & everything, but no where to spray properly !

Right a few more questions, before I nip out tomorrow to have a see what the paint might set me back.

These are probably silly questions that I could find out by googling and searching, but I like to hear peoples opinions etc so will ask.

What are the main differences between 2 pack paint and cellulose ? Which is better to spray with?
Am I right in thinking I can key that paint back with some 400 grit, then spray with primer and just whack a few coats of silver over the top ? or do I require some sort of base coat ?

    Cheers !

400 is to abrasive, the finer you use the less ypu have to do for painting it, try it first with a scotch pad, you never know but that paint looks like it may well come off quite easily, if it doesnt then just try some thinners on it and see how that goes.

if you're going to paint it yourself i've used a plastic primer that halford do, think they call it an adhesion promoter or something like that? have used it on all sorts of stuff and it works well.
