Hi Mozz..yeah you should be fine …the beach for spectators opens at 930..traffic starts building around the town centre 830 am 9 am but you will find a place ….the arrows open the show at 12 .. ..and the forecast is sun sun sun ...
yeah the typhoon was as loud as fuk …you could actually feel the rumble before you saw them …agree to many helicopters. the Vulcan didn't show due to low cloud at the end of the day …so its flying sunday now instead
That looks fookin bizzee!! Hopefully going today. Taking the family though so have to use the car. Hoping father in laws disabled badge gets us nearer for car parking
not sure on Disabled Parking Chas , buts theres a real good disabled viewing spot , its on the sea wall , near the roundabout at the Fair end top spot Enjoy
We noticed yesterday the car park by the cinemas on the front (think its Vue) was quite empty. Pay and display by its 2 ft from the waterfront
It'll be getting through the traffic that's the issue... Hoping to go around lunchtime when everyone's there already... And then leave before the end... The old fella used to work at BAE, but now has Parkinson's so hoping a few aeroplanes will put a smile on his face.
Had a great day there today,no matter howmany times i see the red arrows they still amaze me. Got in early enough for traffic not to be a broblem, came out down the formby bypass and over the moss zero traffic
All I'm going to say about today...... Definitely the best line up they've had for quite a few years now, out of all the acts there today, for me the ones that stood out where the Mid Air Squadron's Canberra & Hunter, the Two Lancasters, Eurofighter & The Hanger 11 aircraft. Here's one from today though: Agusta Westland AW-101 Merlin by J.R.Photo, on Flickr
yeah there was a display at derwent too..the guy on the PA system was giving the southport crowd a run down on this too !!! The Lancs Bombers left Southport and flew st aright over Derwent …the Red arrows were on first at 12 noon , then the refuelled at Blackpool and went to do a display in Bordeaux South of france !! what a job that must be one of the pilots of the typhoon was on the stand before the display and was chatting to people about it …That plane is incredible …loved it
Once they had displayed at Southport the headed back to Blackpool to refuel etc before heading off to the Derwent Dam & the Arrows after refueling went to Rennes to display at 6pm. Just thought I'd share a couple more from sunday though: IMG_0358 by J.R.Photo, on Flickr Two Lancs by J.R.Photo, on Flickr Taken using a Canon 40D & Sigma 28-300 lens
