Just a quick heads up for this weekend - Southport airshow on Saturday and Sunday so roads in the area will be chocker from early o'clock. I'll be having a run over cos I'm sad, and it will probably be my only chance to see two Lancasters flying together and the Vulcan is scheduled to make an appearance. Chocks away and tally ho .........
i normally watch it from my garden ..certainly won't pay the ridiculous amount they normally charge to go on the sea wall ….you get a better veiw in my opinion being away form the action …The Vulcan is fantastic , defo one not to be missed
go to the carousel you can see all you need to and you can feel the backwash off the tornado awesome machine:thumbsup:
Well at least Formby's on the right side of the estuary, noisy dots in the distance from St Annes ......
No tornado this year.. Only "fast" jets will be Typhoon... Vulcan dont count.. big and slow but LOUD!!!!!!

Weather looks better tomorrow.. Anyone going? I'm going with an aim to get there in time for the Red arrows display. Leaving Rochdale just after 9am and going to Rivington barn for a quick bacon sarnie, then leaving rivington at about 10:15 to arrive at Southport for 11:30.. Red arrows fly over at 12. Going mainly to see the battle of Britain memorial, rest is a bonus. Tag along if you like!
went this PM the tycoon was superb…red arrows just as good….the arrows came in from behind the crowd.. everyone was looking left and right and then they appeared overhead … the beach was packed …£9 entry and £3 for a tray of chips that had 9 chips in !!! well i didnt pay that but i know some one who did…. traffic started arriving in southport at 830am by 1130 am it was backed up to ormskirk …
typhoon is an awesome bit of kit,and the arrows were brilliant,the lancasters were a brilliant sight to see,shame bout the weather.
Im going tomora dave, how was trafic ? Im planning on leaving mine at around 8 normally takes bout 30-45mins
Went with the missus and kids, charged us £9 to sit on a cramped beach full of burger vans and fair rides blocking the views... Did manage to get a few pics of the Red Arrows as they come over and gave up with the camera after that couldn't get a decent shot... Was just packing up as it come out... To be honest we got a bit fet up with the helicopters and started heading off when we heard it coming in the distance... Once you've seen one you've seen them all. Didn't manage to get any pictures of it though as camera was away... The noise though! Fuck me it was loud!
