Once a month for 6 months of the year at 3 sisters would justify it for me but I believe they race the feckers every weekend at go kart tracks. Anyone feeling the challenge ? Sent from my HTC One X using Xparent Red Tapatalk 2
there is a place in st helens that sells sticky slicks for these bikes ,so im lookin for a set of spare wheels on ebay ....three sisters here we come!!! last one to have a track worthy bike as a gay
I have a set of 110 forks with yokes in loft if you want them? dont know if they fit but good for spares Im not using them so might aswell go to someone that has a pit bike lol
if youre building one for track days you'd be better off sticking a jap motor in than a chinese pos... it wont last 5 mins lol!
The 160's are honda c90's with a kit, the only problem is the cases as they dont last but there cheap enough to strip and swap
there is a 216 kit for the 70s and 90s and also a suzuki capuccino turbo fits http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=20it78ScCDc
thats a smart vid..now i know what turbo to look out for cos i think it was obvious this project would turn turbo sooner or later.... what colour are them forks matey....i was thinkin of replacing mine but ended up paintin them and now the paints peelin off..might take you up on the offer... any way..painted the engine tonight..them chinee engines cant be that bad cos this has been thrashed round a field for six years and the engine is the only thing that still works
put the engine in last night and had a sit on it to try and set the preload on the rear and the shock is fooked.. there is no damping whatsoever on comp or rebound.my guess is the seals have gone and there is no oil in the unit..it bounces like a pogo stick.i am watching an r1 shock on ebay ,its only 15mm bigger and they are goin for less than 50 quid.a new fully adjustable pit bike shock is 140. also the front end has problems..when the fronts are compressed they dont rise smoothly enough for my liking and the sag feels notchy..its only 80 quid for a whole new front end ..i find its hard not to compare the suspension to the r1 but i want it to feel conected..cheap field bike that handles well.i think thats an ( oxymoron }
thats just the problem ..if i go to maxton i am lookin at a few hundred quid to sort the suspension out,and it defeats the object of a budget project..like bike nutter say i do want too much..i should llearn to accept the bike for what it is and enjoy the scetchy riding experience that comes from riding a field bike on the roads..just reminded myself why its something different...still puttin the r1 shock on the back just to see how it pans out
Yer that's a good point if it's on a budget there must be mods somewhere on the net to say what suites the bike the best.
looks like it will be a fun bike cheap enough to have a laugh and nearly destroy it then rebuild it a diiferent way/style.
got a shock off a ducati 848 evo...fits like a glove and looks smart..only cost 35 quid..putin the exhaust in to get welded up tomorow...sure someone will coment on the weld quality...eh...eh
