When do you service your bike? Had the first done @ 600 miles by yanmaha now on 4500ish & thinking of getting it done again. Its still crystal clear and not needed a drop of a topup. Your ideas?
Should have service intervals in your handbook, stick to these for your warranty, mine ar every 3500 miles but Suzuki seem to be shorter than other manufacturers, defo wouldn't leave more than 4000 miles between oil changes though even if your service intervals are longer.
some manufacturers have it at 4000 most at 6000 kev ....or at least once a a year. check your book or yamaha ... also check the price and what they do for it ....
Exactly what I thought 6k for an oil change, for my own piece of mind since the first 600 service have changed it myself at 3.5k and 6.5k. Also increased the oil filter capacity to a larger one.
Mines every 6k but i change it every 3k,for what it costs, plus it drives me nuts if i cant see gold in the sight glass
i do the ktm about every 3k. they like to be looked after! the cbr gets done about every 6k. both are due actually. and the cbr is getting treated to a fork service and new head bearings.
I do my sv every 6k I do my cbr steelie every 10 to 15k but im a bad bad man, and although it is neglected, i do check the oil weekly.. Its on about 60 or 70k i think, and although its rough around the edges i trust it enough to get me anywhere that the sv could take me.
Your oil will out live your service interval. Modern oils do not degrade like the old stuff, and a properly running petrol engine will still have nice clear oil at it's usual service interval. We do oil sampling which can extend oil life to nearly twice it's normal service change. How many of you do a mid service oil change on your car? That said I still change my bike oil at 3k.
Speaking of cars, the focus i just got rid of hadnt had an oil change in 5 years. Ran a dream. aww. i feel all guilty now.
I change the bike oil and filters every year only done 1700 miles since last year car wise just done major service on corsa 4k so far Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk 2
I got the bike new in January, first service was either 6 months or 600 miles. It got done at 350 miles (6 months) Its now done just over 1000 miles. The next service will be at the end of January (12 months) I don't think it will have more than 1500 miles by then..
