When are you thinking of doing it? Will you be camping? Me and the old man would be well up for this but its one of those trips that needs some flexibilty so you can get the good weather.

You will all love it, I bet you will be amazed at the amount of dead bugs on your leathers and bike when you have finished a ride.

    Mega loads of midges

looks like a good run. i went to fort william for the down hill world cup, last year on the gsxr, loved the ride after i got off the motorways, took about 3 hours to get to fort william.
there are some beutiful roads around there, just wish i could of stayed for a few more days and sample the roads, properly. think i saw 3 police cars in a week.
if you get chance there is a hostel in fort william called the bank street lodge, with a italian beneath it, owner of the italian is biking mad. pretty good food aswell.

you need to do the old army road, think it's on the way up to jedburgh from hexham. dead straight for miles but full of hills and dips, it's like a roller coaster ride.
well worth it, we did it in the jag last year and my lad nearly threw up :puke:

if you drag the route from carlisle across to hexham that's a lot more interesting route. some fantastic roads through kielder.

For some reason I can't upload your route , might be this bloody iPad thing !

I'm well versed in the roads up there, we go twice a year . You will ride amazing roads and if it's dry it's as good as anywhere in Europe the road from fort William to malaig where you catch the isle of Skye ferry is highly rated and carries bend after bend after bend.

Have a great time. I'm up there bank holiday may. For four days Then we go again first week in sept when all the kids have gone back to sch so no caravans etc, it's like a public race track just above loch lomond heading towards Inveraray

    Keep safe

and dont forget there are others on the public racetrack heading the other way lol so tuck in and dont take bends wide - there is no run-off!

Ha ha ha. I'm smiling at that Martin !

Honestly when we come off the 20 min ferry trip from malaig to Skye in sept, more or less all you see till you reach portree is sheep in fields ! I've had a blade hit the limiter in top on there. It's a tumble weed town !

I know what ya meant though. Respect

from malaig, if you want to see deserted, go a bit further to knoydart.... there's about 20 people live there lol!
only thing is, there are no roads lol.
would be ace on an off roader though, but when you run out of petrol you're fkt cos there isnt any on the island lol!
very good walking place, watching the deer etc... some great beer & food & experienced my first ceilidh lol :S (very odd lol!)

tbh i have never been so cold & wet in my fkin life. the wind & rain up there cuts through everything, even bone!
highly recommended place if you like desolation, but not if you are nesh like me! :/

if you do brave it - (well worth a visit) - say hello to morag & bob at the forge for me :)
