I donate every month to NWAA to the tune of £15. (one of there reps doorstepped me) its a very worthy cause.
The santa run £350 will be gratefully received. working out how much this is per biker is a bit of an uninformed opinion (read cunts trick)
    Merry Christmas

If it's been reported that this is what the santa run raised then it's neither uninformed or an opinion, however, every little helps I suppose.

Just hope every penny is accounted for if people are saying they put a 10er in the pot ! Bikers always give well just seems a low amount of money for all those took part

I agree. Normally when you do a run like this, you think, a tenner at least or gift to that value. Otherwise it's not worth getting out of bed for.
However...... Something is better than nothing, so well done if you donated.

That's one view, another is bringing to people's attention that these things aren't a very good way of raising money and other ways are probably better.

roughleys did there annual toy run from stockport yesterday.we didnt go but did do the easter egg run earlier this year over 450 bikes were there.so im would think it was a good turnout judging by the amount of bikes we saw and heard going past .

I think there's a lot of bitterness coming out in this thread.

Agreed there were 100 plus bikes and £350 raised. Not a shed load but £350 more than NWAA had before we started. A lot of the riders were young kids; clearly not well off and maybe there for the kicks and not the charity. But saying that, I saw quite a few people putting notes in the tin, young and old.

And lets get it right. It was really good fun.

To anyone who wants to work out how much "raised per bike" and "donations compared to money spent on fuel and a brew"; I say you can use that same analysis on their whole lifestyle. How much do you earn? How much do you waste on takeaways and unnecessary shit? How much do you give to charity? How much of that is anonymous to avoid claims of self gratification? Think about yourselves before you slag off others.

At least we were out on our bikes on a nice day and raised a few quid in the process.

How many of you clever cunts who believed this was a waste thought, "Today I've saved £10 in fuel by not going on that run with those bellends so I'll donate that to charity!" None of you I bet!

Some of you sad acts need to get a life.

Absolutely agree - my comment about the £/biker and comparison to the M60 thing was me wondering if there was an age thing involved - the motorway run obviously involving an older age group with higher capacity bikes whereas the Southport run was able to encompass the lower capacity gear and those who are still on their L's, so maybe with a little less spare cash this close to Christmas.

At the end of the day the event was nicely organised, no significant trouble bar a single impatient knob-head driver, a few hundred quid was raised for the NWAA that otherwise wouldn't have been and they got a bit of exposure in the local rag, and all of us who attended had a nice afternoon run out in the sun.......

Santa suit now back in the closet, hopefully ready for next year and another run for charridee .

No issues with your posts Ash. I always try to look at both sides of any issue, same as you.

This cunt donates to the RNLI about 20 quid a month just in-case i fall in when fishing or boating and doesn't waste money on fancy dress costumes to ride to Southport to get my picture in the paper, perhaps instead of calling some of us miserable cunts the time would have been better posting up a link where we could have donated money direct !! just because some of us didn't want to take part in an other forum Rideout and dress up doesn't make us better, why would some people go to the expense of buying a costume and fuel to take part and not to donate if they were short of money surely they would have been better just to donate or not to buy a costume and donate the money instead
For all those who did take part and donated well done.

I think it's crap that some on here need to judge others... Not for doing something shitty, illegal or immoral. But something that could be fun, raise a charity's profile and raise a few bob as well. Not to everyone's taste but that is what makes us all different.

For your info I didn't use the word cunt first, it's in blokes posts and in a number of others before I decided to have my say. And that's why I purposefully chose the word.

Regarding charitable donations - You make regular ones to RNLI and probably one off ones as well to many different charities, so do I and so do many others. That's between us and our consciences.

I said... "How many of you clever cunts who believed this was a waste thought, "Today I've saved £10 in fuel by not going on that run with those bellends so I'll donate that to charity!" None of you I bet!"
No reference to any donations made at any other time in your life or for any other reason. Just an inference that it would have been better to offer spur of the moment financial support the NWAA by giving something to them rather than just slagging off those who went on the run.

Regarding others buying outfits etc and not donating to charity. I've got no idea why others do things, including going on a charity run and not donating. Not my place and not my headache. For my part I wore an old reindeer onesy and paid my cash (just like last year).

BTW - the Santa run was organised out of this forum last year and raised less money than this year. So why didn't it get slagged off more last year than this year? Maybe it's got something to do with persons involved? That makes some of the posts on here based on spite and not much else.

I don't care whether anyone on this forum attends any charity event or donates to any charity. Some would say we pay our taxes and that should be enough. We all have our own morals and values. However I do feel it is extremely ignorant to call anyone else for choosing to do so.

I just think it stinks that people trying to have fun, raise a charity's profile and raise a few quid get called on here. It's just crap and this forum needs to change if it wants to survive.

if you rewind to the first few pages of this thread you will see that I raised my concerns about this being on here in the first place and the word cunt was brought up by somebody calling as miserable if we didn't take part, in my opinion if you're going to call somebody a cunt or abuse in some way when it's not in jest as no place on any forum!!

Haha Jaffa are you upset because your "possy" has been poo poo'd?

I donate to NWAA each month to the tune of 2.5% so per year I raise more that was raised on the run before I've even entertained the idea of doing any fundraising.....

If people want to raise money, good on the but this was clear (as has been said before) self gratification.

Trust you, Woody, to show his true colours and try make it personal. By making those crass remarks you show yourself for who you truly are.

I have no possy and don't give a rats arse about poo poo.

And it's a good thing you pay towards the air ambulance. Sound investment.

And Woody you'd know all about self gratification and showing off. That's what this is all about. You rattle cages on here cos it's all you're capable of.

I have got an issue with the way NWB is going. I've met loads of great people through this forum and had some really good runs out with them.

Very little chance of decent runs out with new faces happening now. Everyone who comes on here nowadays sees more back biting, bitching and bullying than they do useful comment about motorcycles and rides out. A real shame.

Alot of you have met me in real life. I just want to enjoy life and my riding. no axes to grind. no vendettas or allegiances to work to. Life's too short to spend it acting aggressive and bitter n twisted.

I only stay on here cos this forum is too good to allow it to be destroyed by a disillusioned few.

One day I hope to get the forum back to what it was.

Interesting..... A separate forum is made where users bitch about members of this forum.

    Your right, I'm the bitch.

Regarding being only capable of rattling peoples cages, I have a lot of long term friends from this forum and provide a lot of help to users. But thank you for the incite into my capabilities, its greatly appreciated as your opinion truly is valued.

If you'd like to continue your rant feel free to PM me or meet in person.

I hope you feel suitably ashamed about your behaviour now Woody, I suggest you take a little time to reflect on how you've behaved in the past. I'm sure eventually it'll make you a better person, then, and only then, you can join the "other forum".
