Ok, looking at the weather for next weekend, who is up for a start on Saturday morning with overnight stay to meet the Rivi ride on the Sunday? Ideas on where to go as long as we can meet the Rivi ride. Lakes could be a good one?? The weather is looking good. Phil (Wide Load)
The Gilpin Bridge Hotel just outside Kendal is a good base. There is a deal on Groupon I think Phil (Wide Load)
Love the idea Phil, but it is too early in the season for me. The days are not long enough to go far enough to justify. I have made the suggestion for March and it is still on my back burner. See:- http://www.northwestbikers.net/index.php?threads/late-season-over-nighter.19278/#post-289133
Im well into this type of thing but like kev , its just not that time of year ...you would get the lakes and then ride down to devils and meet the rest to ride home ..but you can do that in a day really , when the weathers half decent ... the rivvy lot aint meeting till 12 so wont be at devils till gone 2 or 3 by the time they have faffed about ...so if you left handy sunday morning , went to the lakes rode round windermere and dropped off to Kirby Lonsdale ,you would be well in time to meet the rivvy riders...only trying to save you a B and B fee....you also need to take into consideration its Valentines weekends ..lots of hotels will double there prices for the one night due to having to wash the bedding from all the guests ....dirty fukas !!!
Hijacked........again! Rivi are meeting at 11am not 12 Looks like the mockers have been put on yet another ride. I'm not going to suggest or try and organise anymore. If you're genuinely interested in going then please comment, if not, then please don't comment at all. It's starting to get on my nerves a little bit now and it's not the first time it's happened. There, I've said it.......as calmly as I can! Aaaaaaand sleep! Phil (Wide Load)
Phil, we all admire your enthusiasm for organising rides, but don't get frustrated with the low levels of interest. It's just too bloody early In the year, we have all organised rides before and had to cancel due to the weather so most of us just take it day by day until the weather improves
It's not that they may have to get cancelled Chris, I understand that just as much as everyone else. What is getting my back up is that a ride is put up and automatically certain people start putting the mockers on it "because they know best". What I'm trying to say is that is if someone puts a ride up, it's their ride. They are organising it. They should welcome input but other people shouldn't try and change it or put the mockers on it either. Also, when a ride goes up, the thread goes off on a tangent and ends up about strawberry ice cream in the bloody Sahara Phil (Wide Load)
