huh? When i inflated the tyre the tyre was uneven around the rim so had to deflate

You have to over inflate the tyre to pop it on to its' bead. Look on the tyre for the max inflate pressure and run it right up there to seat the tyre, the deflate to running pressure.

Use lots of soap to help the rubber slip over the ridge.

    Thanks kev!

turns out i must of stretched the bead on the tyre (oops) looked on youtube stuffed a tube inbetween the gaps put some air into it then tried putting air into the main tyre, once it was popped I pulled out the tube and the tyre is still sealed! only took me about 8 hours

When I first got my bike I struggled to get it off too. What I found helpful is if you use a spanner on the nut and interlock another spanner into that one as leverage and pull. It will move, you just gotta be persistent :)

You shouldn't have to over inflate the tyre, if you use soap.
A tyre should pop on at around 20psi according to the experts.
But sometimes you get a stubborn bugger that wants to be a twat, Kawasaki rims are a PITA.

I find bouncing the wheel on the floor and keep turning it round bouncing helps to force the bead over before over inflating to a loud ping

you'd have to be superman to stretch a bead on a tyre;)

had one on a laguna few years ago that didn't seat on one bead until 115psi!!

fuck knows why it wouldn't go on it then, the bead looked uneven when i took the tyre off, maybe it was just the way i was looking at it. I think next time i might take it the garage though, too much hassle putting everything back together
