Cheers for coming down everyone, gad a good day once we got started the morning sessions were littered with crashes and blow ups. I have never seen so many red flags and oil spills in one day, the afternoon was great mind the track dried up and we got a few good laps in.

I have a few bits that need sorting out before Tuesday, but thats what today was for, shakedown.

Took a picture of the exhaust today after a session, do you think that it is hot enough???????

Roll on Tuesday, get the odds and sods sorted then we are away.

you've not got an air leak at the header have you seam?
thats usually what makes it glow like that m8 - either that or you got a lean spot.
it will fk the packing up m8 and could burn the exhaust valves / seats, you need to get that sorted,
might be worth another dyno run before you race it m8, just in case.

wouldve come down for a look but had work in the mornin & went back bed when i got in lol!

wonder if all the fails were people who've bought track bikes over the winter and took them straight out on the track?

Its due to the heat wrap that I put on, it will be coming off tomorrow afternoon as the heat will ruin the exhaust and cause possible exhaust valve failure.

Nothing wrong with the timing or fueling, the bike ran very sweet today in deed.

Sean heat wrap will make your exhaust run cooler. Seriously it could be running to lean mate speak to Martin

It's not running lean its been on the dyno, the exhaust wrap will increase the temp within the exhaust as the heat cannot escape due to the heat wrap.

Which therefore drops the temp that your engine is surrounded by.

Yeah but it shouldnt make your end can that hot, the heat isnt dispelled by convection through the pipe its sent out the back with the exhaust gasses. Im not saying thats a bad thing but its not normal, have a chat with the dyno guy Sean because what they cant replicate on the dyno is the ram air effect when your giving it some, it may be fine until then when it becomes a bit leen, loads of air and not enough fuel. It could also be sucking air in sonewhere else maybe something came loose after your first shakedown mate.

Only thinking of your budget and your season mate i would hate to think of it burning a valve out at a meeting, we could be well of the mark but its only a phone call to put your mind at rest.

Glad it went well for ya :D
