I've just done the trip you're about to go on but via Dover to Calais! Came back on Saturday. The Ring is awesome!!! I was taken round it a couple of times as a pilly on a gsxr1000. 11 minutes - and loved every single minute of it! You'll be addicted, so take plenty of spending money! Last week, the Ring was open to the public from 5.15pm for a couple of hours, weekdays. Ticket office opens at 4.45pm. Don't forget to get a 'ring card' - you cannot pay cash in the cafe for drinks/food. You will have a fantastic time!! I'm very envious!

roll of gaffer tape under the seat is well handy. just in case. for tyre repair just take a tyreweld. great for getting you out the sh*t. they will fix nail holes and thorns etc and seal the bead if you kerb it hard or hit a pothole. anything worse than that wont be repairable anyway.
