new freakin chain

    yeah 'did' cost me £90 this morning .got the bike in the house so time to get fiddly tonight with the fitting kit .spoke to the company that sold them me "E torque racing" and they are gonna reimburse me the cost of the chain so at least i get some money back .so hopefully be ok for sunday ....

    E torque Racing ? are they related to Bike Torque racing ?? ive had lots of gear of them , brembo brakes , Levers , ohlins shocks, very very good company

    anyone in or near stockport with a chain riviter .ive used the one that came with the kit but not sure if they have domed over enough .[​IMG][​IMG]

    That looks pretty good Eddie.
    I do tend to measure the hole in the plate then measure the rivet when it's peened.
    Some chain manufacturers will give a size to peen the link to.

    oi leave mmy tape alone its a temporary solution till i get them in for powder coat over winter .

    Get a mate to hold a lump hammer behind that section of chain then use another lump hammer and a drift to peen the ends a bit wider if you can.
    if you can get it to Jcn12 M56 i have a whale brand chain hammer that would turn that into a nice OE look link and peen it perfectly.

    You're lucky. Saw a guy with a turbo Busa at Santa Pod years back who snapped his chain on launch - it bunched round the front sprocket, smashed both crankcase halves, dumped all the oil over the track and nearly spat him off.

    looks pretty good to me. measure the width of your other links also. I did mine to much and split one of the pins. they don't need a great deal of squashing.

    I am from Stockport, if you what I could take a look at it for you if you are still not 100%. Just a quick one are you sure that the chain is a DID?

    I cannot see the markings that they usually have on each of the links?

    yeah deffo did got it from howards near aldi .been on a cple of weeks now and seems sorted .but thx for the offer sean.how come e havnt seen you out on a ride mate seeing as your just round the corner ??

    I don't ride on the roads mate, glad your chain is all sorted. If you have any issues with the bike give me a shout.
