I'm not sure if this is in the right place or not,I'm sure the mods will do something if it is not.

    I have a sym Jet Sport X 50,that isn't fireing,when of the valves isn't opening right.

Now I'm not mechinal compatent so this is a learning expiernce for me,I can't get past the fly wheel.
I need to know what to do,and what tools to use.(The only tools I do have is a rachet set)

    Thanks in advance.

    moved to the garage. cheers.

M8 to take the rocker head off then a 8mm spanner to loosen the rocker nut

You will also need some feeler gauges a you need to measure 0.03 and 0.04

I see,I'm being told that the intake valve is sized anyway,to manual open it to put some spray in?

Are you able to get the engine to me?

It won't be seized unless its really fucked! New valves are cheap enough and fairly easy to reseat them aswell.

I'm afride not as I can't even move it from where I live, due to I being in a remote place,i was told the valve has sized and they want £300 to fix it worst comes to worst new engine for £125.
atm I'm stuck at the fly wheel,as not haveing any tools but a rachet set I can't get it off.

Do you mind createing a step by step guid,as I'm abit of a dullard,I know it's an interal part,I don't really know where it is,I've got the side kickstand (to motar ) case off,and the piston houseing.

Bare in mind this is a 50cc moped(I know some one's gonna come along and say get a bigger bike,I'm working on it XD)

Well like I said,I'm new to all this and abit of a dullard.

Now I'm aware I proberly shoudn't be doing this with my level of knowledge, but for me it's a learning experience.

Right you need to remove the plastic casing first of all so that you can see the top end on the motor (where the spark plug is).

Id recommend removing the engine to do the work after looking at the pics of the bike but im sure youd manage to do it in place anyway.

If your unable to get the rocker cover off then really you need to be looking at someone else doing the work instead. Either get the bike to me or ask one of the lads who lives near you to give you a hand.

    -----------------------------

Now if you want to make a proper crack at it yourself first remove seat and all rear plastics then take another pic and ill instruct you from there. Keep updates on this thread and Ill reply asap

Seat is already off,I'll have to get round to removing the rest of the plastics tomorrow,as it is a bit late now,I would love to do it my self,I'd aslo like the engine to stay where it is,as I don't wanna do anything that drastic. I also have no idea what the rocker cover looks like, like I said this is all learning for me,hence why I want to get it done my self.

I asume by rest of the plastics you mean the caseing were the seat sits on.

Can you find out what engine it uses?

The rocker cover will look similar to this:

You will have rocker cover at the very top the the piston barrel then the bottom end.

Remove the spark plug, undo all 4 bolts and go to town :D

Its just the rocker cover that you remove
